Marauders capture 4x400 relay with big effort at SDSU Indoor Classic

BROOKINGS, SD – The University of Mary men's indoor track & field team claimed a win in the 4x400 meter relay at the South Dakota State Indoor Classic for the Marauders top finish of the day.
 
Racing against a deep field of talent, the Marauders quartet of Akil Howell, Samuel Honeyman, Brendon Hoyte and Isaac Huntington combined to post a time of 3:18.49. It was a narrow victory as UMary topped all 20 teams by .15 seconds over the runner-up.
 
Hoyte claimed third in the 60 meter dash, crossing the finish line in 6.90 seconds.
 
Huntington added a 4th place finish to his day in the 400 meter dash with a clocking of 48.98 seconds.
 
Honeyman claimed 5th place in the 600 meter finals with a timing of 1:23.0.
 
A pair of Marauders placed sixth in the pole vault. Both senior Dillan Kovash and freshman Isaac Watson cleared the bar at 4.42 meters.
 
The Marauders next competes at the Black Hills State Stinger Open on February 18-19 in Spearfish, SD.
