Northern Sun names Kaleigh Carmichael Women's Golfer of the Week to make Marauders history

BURNSVILLE, MN – Kaleigh Carmichael made University of Mary program history by becoming the first Marauders scholar-athlete to earn Northern Sun Women's Golfer of the Week recognition. The junior was honored today for her strong performance at the Yellowjacket Fall Invitational.
 
Carmichael finished third overall at the Yellowjacket Fall Invitational in Billings, MT. The Williston (ND) High School graduate shot rounds of 80 and 77 to finish 13 over par with a 2-day total of 157. Her strong performance in the final round allowed her to move up five spots on the leaderboard.
 
The Marauders finished third overall in the team standings with a two-day total of 656 at the Lake Hills Golf Course.
 
This is just the third season UMary has competed in golf after an absence of over a decade.
 
With two meets remaining on the fall schedule, UMary next competes at the University of Sioux Falls Invitational on Oct. 10-11 in Larchwood, IA, at The Falls Golf Course.
