BISMARCK, ND – A tremendous team effort in the University of Mary's first home meet in eight years carries the Marauders to the men's title at the Mystics-Marauders Invite.
Marauders claimed five of the top 12 slots in the standings as UMary edged past Minot State for the second straight meet. UMary compiled 37 team points with Minot State checking in with 44. Northern State was third at 64 points, followed by MSU Moorhead (86) and Jamestown (145).
Caleb Yokom and
Robert White were the Marauders top two places, finishing 3-4 on the 8: course at McDowell Dam. Yokom checked in with a time of 25:16.0, just 2.1 seconds off the pace of the runner up. White was clocked in 25:25.9.
Guillermo Fregoso claimed 7
th in a time of 24:54.4.
Ian Sande and
Isaac Anderson rounded out the team scoring for UMary, placing 11-12 respectively. Sande finished the course in 26:29.4 and Anderson owned a clocking of 26:34.2.
The Marauders had three other top-17 finishes.
Gabe Sagvold (26:41.2) was 14
th,
Owen Jones (26:42.1) placed 15
th and
Caleb Hansen (26:44.3) finished 17
th in the 57-runner field.
UMary now enters championship season, starting with the Northern Sun championships on November 5 in Wayne, NE.
