Marauders rout Beavers to complete the sweep

BISMARCK, ND – It was a great night for the University of Mary volleyball team (3-11, 0-5 Northern Sun) as they swept their rival Minot State University (0-11, 0-5 NSIC) in a non-conference matchup.

"I am really proud of the overall consistency and push from our group tonight! It was a great environment and fun to finish in three," said head coach Abby Pollart.

The Marauders jumped off to a 7-1 lead in the first set as Nehkyah Ellis had served three aces. UMary would win the set 25-17 on an Emily Torborg ace.

The second set went back and forth, with it being tied 18-18. The Marauders would go on a 7-1 run, with the winning point coming on a Kameron Selvig ace.

UMary would come out dominant in the third set as the Marauders grabbed an 8-1 lead. UMary kept the momentum going, winning the set 25-17 on a Bailey Harms kill assisted by Kameron Selvig.

Natalia Cruz was tied for a team-best nine kills while also grabbing six digs

Emily Torborg had four kills and three aces

Bailey Harms led the Marauders with four blocks while also earning six kills

Kameron Selvig led the team in assists with 21

Kennedy Drewis had six kills and one block

Kaia Sueker had a team-best 11 digs

Kaia Lill had 13 assists with one ace

STAT OF THE GAME
Nehkyah Ellis was tied for a team-high nine kills on a .333 hitting percentage. Ellis also had six digs and three aces.

UP NEXT
The Marauders hosts Wayne State College on Friday, October 1, at 6 pm. The Marauders then welcome Augustana University to the McDowell Activity Center on Saturday, October 2, at 3 pm. UMary will host a middle school/youth day against the Vikings.
