Biography

2021(Senior)
In her senior campaign, Cruz played in 91 of the 102 sets played. Cruz totaled 211 total digs and 2.32 digs/set, while also recording 176 kills and 1.93 kills/set which was 2nd highest on the team. She had a season-high 14 kills against Georgia College.

2020 (Senior)
Fall Season canceled due to Covid-19.  Played in all four matches in the spring of 2021, posting 7 aces and is second on the team in digs with 31 as well as digs per set with 3.10. Her season highlight came at Minot State when she chipped in 14 digs and 4 aces (along with 2 blocks and 8 kills) on the match.
 
2019 (Junior)
Played in all 101 sets while leading the team in digs, digs per set, service aces, and service aces per set. Cruz totaled 402 total digs and 3.98 digs/set, while also recording 28 service aces and .26 services aces/set. Cruz’s 3.98 digs per set ranked 14th among the NSIC leaderboard.

2018 (Sophomore)
Played in 27 matches, recorded 129 kills, 18 services aces, and 278 digs. Averaged 3.16 digs per set which was the highest on the team. Cruz recorded the most digs on the team with 278. Cruz also finished third on the team with her 129 kills and was awarded NSIC All-Academic Team.

2017 (Freshman)
During her freshman campaign, playing in 19 matches, Cruz totaled 126 kills, contributed 2.07 kills per set, 141 digs, and 0.11 blocks per set, in total scoring 2.25 points per set for the Marauders.
 
PRIOR TO UMARY
High School

A two-time letter winner in volleyball and the 2016 Wesleyan Academy Athlete of the Year, Natalia Cruz joined the Marauders volleyball team in the Fall of 2017.
 
Cruz received the Onda Deportiva All-Star Selection and was named a PRHSSA All-Alliance Athlete in volleyball, which is awarded to the top eight athletes of all the schools chosen by a committee.
 
Cruz and her volleyball team were the PRHSSA Varsity Volleyball Championship runners-up for the 2015 and 2016 seasons. Cruz was team captain from her ninth-grade year to her senior year and was named the team most valuable player for three straight seasons.
 
She also represented her country in the FIVB U-17 World Championships as her team placed ninth in the world.

The daughter of Jesus and Tina Cruz, Natalia is pursuing a degree in Biomechanics at the University of Mary.
