BISMARCK, ND – The University of Mary volleyball team (2-11, 0-5 Northern Sun) came up short against Upper Iowa University (10-4, 3-2 NSIC) as they competed in three hard-fought sets.
"I was proud of our team's response today! We played much grittier defense and had more consistent offense," said head coach
Abby Pollart.
The Marauders held a 14-12 lead in the first set. The Peacocks would take control late and win the set 25-21.
The second set went back and forth, with it being tied at 19-19 late. UIU would take six out of the next nine points to take home the set.
UMary would attempt to rally back after being down 24-16 in the third set but fell to the Peacocks 25-19.

Bailey Harms led the Marauders with six blocks while also grabbing four kills
Kameron Selvig was the team-lead in assists with 16
Emily Torborg had four blocks and three kills
Nehkyah Ellis led the team with eight kills while contributing nine digs
Natalia Cruz had seven kills, six digs and two blocks
Kaia Sueker had a team-best 17 digs
Kennedy Drewis had 7 kills while posting a .333 hitting percentage

The Marauders played great in front of the net as UMary had 14 blocks compared to UIU to the 4 had.
