BISMARCK, ND – The University of Mary softball team was defeated in their final two home games of the season by #20 Winona State University.

WSU grabbed an early 3-0 lead in the top of the second and never looked back. The Warriors added two runs in the third, one run in the fourth and four runs in the top of the sixth inning. The Marauders only hit came after Eryn De Jonge singled to the shortstop in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Nicole Eckhardt pitched four innings of relief and allowed five earned runs as she struck out one batter.

WSU continued their great run as the Warriors jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the top of the first inning. WSU added three more runs in the third and fourth innings giving the Warriors a 9-0 lead. UMary earned their only run on the day after Kaylee Kannegiesser hit a sac fly to right field scoring Mikaela Pelesauma.

NEXT TIME OUT
The Marauders (7-30, 6-18 Northern Sun) travels to Crookston, MN, as they will take on the University of Minnesota Crookston in a doubleheader on Saturday, May 8 at 12 pm. UMary will play its final games of the season on the road against Bemidji State University in a doubleheader begining at 12 pm on Sunday, May 9.
