UMary falls in hard-fought battle against #14 SCSU

St. Cloud, MN – Kaia Sueker and Nehkyah Ellis combined for 35 digs as the University of Mary volleyball team (3-16, 0-10 Northern Sun) came up short against #14 St. Cloud State University (14-4, 9-1 NSIC).

"I am proud of the way we stepped up tonight! It's fun to see the progress this squad keeps having each week against top opponents," said head coach Abby Pollart.

SCSU won the first set 25-13. UMary competed better in the second set, with the score tied at 14-14. The Huskies would take the set 25-18.

The Marauders showed great resilience as they would win the third set 25-19. UMary finished the set by winning the last three points, including a kill by Maddie Cooper assisted by Kameron Selvig.

SCSU rallied back to win the fourth set 25-9 and earned the victory.

Natalia Cruz had six kills and nine digs

Emily Torborg was the team leader in kills (7) and blocks (3)

Maddie Cooper and Baily Harms both had six kills and one block

Kaia Lill led the team in assists after she posted 16

Kameron Selvig had 12 assists while earning eight digs
