Box Score ORLANDO, FL – The University of Mary tennis team was edged by Rockhurst University 6-1. The talented Rockhurst tennis team was able to sweep doubles play and take five of six singles matches. With the loss the Marauders fall to 9-3 on the season and Rockhurst improves to 2-2.
 
In doubles play, the Marauders gave the Hawks the biggest challenge at number two and three doubles, falling in both of those matches by a score of 6-3.
 
Heidi Jacobson picked up the Marauders lone win of the day at number six singles. She claimed the first set 6-4 before dropping the second to force a super tiebreaker. Jacobson held a 10-2 advantage to claim the win for UMary.
 
Tasha Dembo was in a competitive match against a strong opponent. She would battle hard but fell 6-4, 6-4.
 
Jamie Stoppler competed hard at number four singles, dropping her match 2-6, 6-7.
 
The Marauders will wrap up their Spring Break trip tomorrow, March 10 with a match against Lee University at 6 PM.
