UMary Tennis Kicks Off 2020 Campaign With 7-0 Victory Over SMSU

Box Score FARGO, ND – The University of Mary tennis team wasted no time getting their 2020 campaign rolling, claiming a 7-0 victory over Southwest Minnesota State in their season opener. The Marauders claimed number one and two doubles before taking all four singles matches that were played.
 
The Marauders, eager to get their season rolling, dominated the Mustangs with the closest singles set being 6-1.
 
The Marauders claimed number one and two singles. Tasha Dembo and Yusra Hegy cruised to a 6-2 win. The all-conference team of Danielle Wolf and Jamie Stoppler tallied a 6-1 win to earn the point for the Marauders in doubles play.
 
The Marauders NSIC Player to Watch, Tasha Dembo got her season rolling with a dominant 6-1, 6-1 victory over Cora Delich of SMSU.
 
Yusra Hegy earned the win in number two singles over Paige Jenka. Hegy cruised her way to a 6-1, 6-0 win.
 
Kelsey Lajom started her season 1-0 with a controlling win in number three single. Lajom claimed victory over Cara Berkner by a score of 6-0, 6-1.
 
Kali Askvig closed out the Marauders dominant victory with a 6-1, 6-0 win in number four singles.
 
The Marauders claimed number five and six singles for an additional two points due to SMSU not have players to fill those spots.
 
The Marauders will hop back into action tomorrow morning against Minnesota State – Mankato beginning at 9 AM.
