THIS WEEK
The University of Mary women's basketball team returns home after playing the past four games on the road. The Marauders are set to welcome Upper Iowa and Winona State to town this weekend to kick off a four game homestand. UMary and UIU will square off at 5:30 PM on Friday, February 7. The Marauders follow that up with a game against WSU on Saturday, February 8 at 3:30 PM.

LAST TIME OUT
The Marauders earned a weekend split the last time they took the court. UMary earned an 83-81 overtime win over Wayne State College.

Macy Williams pitched in 19 points and Rotunda added 15 points, nine rebounds, and six assists. The Marauders fell to Augustana 80-73 in the second game of the weekend. The Marauders combined for 15 three pointers on the game with
Megan Voit leading the way with six and
Coral Gillette adding five. Voit totaled 20 points on the game with Gillette adding 17. Askvig had a big 15 point, 15 rebound double double.

The Marauders come into the weekend with a 15-10 record, starting the season 9-7 in NSIC play.

OPPO RESEARCH – UPPER IOWA
Upper Iowa comes into the weekend with a 3-19 record and a 2-14 NSIC record. All three of the Peacocks wins have come on their home court. UIU is led by Jessica Musgrave who posts a team high of 14.3 PPG and 6.4 RPG. One of Upper Iowa's greatest strengths in their ability to knock down the three. The Peacocks are fifth in the NSIC, averaging 7.1 three pointers per game.
LAST MATCHUP
The Marauders earned a 69-65 win over the Peacocks the last time the two teams met up.
Macy Williams led the team with 16 points and four assists.
Coral Gillette pitched in 12 points, knocking down four three pointers.
HISTORY LESSON
The Marauders are 15-3 all-time against the Peacocks… UMary lost the first meeting between the schools at Fayette, IA, on Dec. 1, 2006, the Marauders first-ever NSIC game… The Marauders are 9-0 at home and 6-3 on the road.

OPPO RESEARCH – WINONA STATE
Winona State comes into the weekend with a 14-6 record, going 10-6 in NSIC play. The Warriors are truly Warriors on the road, posting a 7-1 record in away games. WSU is led by Taylor Hustad who leads the team in both points (15.1/game) and rebounds (8.7/game). Hustad leads the NSIC in scoring. Allie Pickrain adds 11.3 PPG for WSU. Emily Kieck leads the NSIC in assists with 4.7 per game.

Winona State was able to sneak a 57-54 victory the last time these two teams met. WSU used a big second quarter to put a bit of a gap between them and the Marauders.

HISTORY LESSON
The Marauders are 9-12 all-time against the Warriors… UMary is 8-3 at home and WSU is 9-1 on its home court… In the NSIC tournament UMary is 2-2 against WSU with both wins coming at home. SAMARITANS FEET
To raise awareness for those who may not have shoes, Neumann and Kittell will coach barefoot for Samaritan's Feet Night on Friday, February 7, when Upper Iowa University visits the McDowell Activity Center. This is the fifth straight year Neumann and Kittell have coached in their bare feet to help draw awareness for the need for shoes both here in the U.S. and around the world.

Cassie Askvig just made history! With her 45 point performance against SMSU, Askvig broke the Marauders single game scoring record. She not only broke UMary's single game scoring record but the Northern Sun single game scoring record. She wasn't done breaking records just yet, she tied the Marauders single game record for free throws made with 17 against the Mustangs.

NSIC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
The Marauders have had two athletes earn NSIC athlete of the week honors.

Lauren Rotunda has earned the honor twice. She first earned the honor for her 19 point, eight rebound, six assist performance against Minot State during a dominant 81-60 win. Later on, she would repeat as NSIC North Player of the Week for her 23 PPG, 6 RPG, and 2 APG weekend in a pair of wins over UMC and BSU.
Cassie Askvig earned hers after averaging 34 PPG and 5.5 RPG. She also dropped a career high of 36 points over the weekend.
CLIMBING THE MARAUDERS ALL TIME RANKINGS
Cassie Askvig currently has 1,620 career points and 791 career rebounds. She ranks seventh all-time in points and fifth all-time in rebounds. She also sits sixth all-time in career blocks with 68.
