SIOUX FALLS, SD – The University of Mary wrestling team hits the road for a pair of NSIC duals. The Marauders open the weekend against Augustana University on Friday, February 7 at 7 PM in Sioux Falls, SD. They follow that up by battling Southwest Minnesota State on Saturday, February 8 at 3 PM.
The Marauders have opened the season with a 2-6 record overall and an 0-3 record in the NSIC. UMary has had their hands full early in the NSIC season with losses coming against #1 SCSU, #10 UIU, and #17 MSU.
With the most recent NWCA Division II Individual rankings, both Phillip Springsteen and Braydon Huber found themselves ranked. All-American Phillip Springsteen came in ranking 7th. Redshirt Freshman Braydon Huber broke into the rankings, coming in at 12th.
Augustana comes into the weekend with an 8-2 record, boasting a 4-0 record in NSIC play. The Vikings are currently on an eight dual home winning streak. The last time the Marauders and Vikings met up, UMary earned an 18-17 win over Augie. This was the Marauders first win over Augustana in their NCAA era.
Southwest Minnesota State comes into the weekend with a 3-6 record, going 2-4 in conference play. The Marauders have claimed the last two duals against the Mustangs. Winning the last matchup 27-12 over SMSU to finish the 2019 home campaign undefeated.
The Marauders will host their final home dual of the season on Sunday, February 16 at 3 PM against Minot State.
