THIS WEEK
The University of Mary women's basketball team wraps up regular season play on the road this weekend. The Marauders will head to Northern State on Friday, February 21 for a 5:30 PM tipoff. They will follow that up with a game against MSU Moorhead on Saturday, February 22 at 3:30 PM.Â
LAST TIME OUT
The last time the Marauders took the court was for two dominant wins in the McDowell Activity Center. The Marauders took down Bemidji State 72-60 to start off the weekend. UMary was led by 22 points by
Lauren Rotunda. Askvig pitched in 19 with
Megan Voit adding 13. In game two of the weekend the Marauders beat Minnesota Crookston 78-70. A 28 point performance by Askvig led the way. Rotunda (18), Gillette (15), and Schneider (13) all pitched in double figure points.
THE RECORD
The Marauders come into the weekend with a 19-10 record, starting the season 13-7 in NSIC play.

OPPO RESEARCH – NORTHERN STATE UNIVERSITY
Northern State comes into the weekend with a 12-14 record, going 8-12 in the Northern Sun. The Wolves own a 7-6 record on their home court. NSU is led by Brianna Kusler who averages 12.8 PPG and 8.3 RPG. Lexi Wadsworth is second on the team in PPG with 12.5. NSU leads the conference in rebounding defense and is third in rebounding margin.
LAST MATCHUP
The Marauders picked up a 75-69 win earlier this season when the two teams met.
Macy Williams led the way for the Marauders with 20 points, seven rebounds, and five assists.
Lauren Rotunda added 19 with
Lexie Schneider pitching in 13 points and nine rebounds.
HISTORY LESSON

MSU Moorhead comes into the weekend with a 16-11 record, going 11-9 in Northern Sun play. The Dragons boast an impressive 9-2 record on their home court. The Wolves are led by Megan Hintz who averages 15.2 PPG and 8.1 RPG. Peyton Boom is second on the team with 10.1 PPG. The Dragons boast one of the best defenses in the NSIC, holding opponents to just 60.1 PPG, the second best in the conference. They lead the conference in field goal percentage defense, allowing opponents to make just 36.1 percent of their shots.
LAST MATCHUP
The Marauders claimed a big 89-68 win the last time these two teams met. A big second half that featured UMary outscoring the Dragons by 14 led the Marauders to the big win.
Cassie Askvig led the way for UMary with 26 points. Gillette (18), Williams (12), and Schneider (10) all posted double digit points with Rotunda and Hearn adding nine each.
HISTORY LESSON
The Marauders are 9-17 against the Dragons since 2006-07… MSUM has won eight of the last nine games… UMary is 6-7 against MSUM at the McDowell Activity Center and 3-9 on the road at Alex Nemzek Fieldhouse.

Cassie Askvig just made history! With her 45 point performance against SMSU, Askvig broke the Marauders single game scoring record. She not only broke UMary's single game scoring record but the Northern Sun single game scoring record. She wasn't done breaking records just yet, she tied the Marauders single game record for free throws made with 17 against the Mustangs.

NSIC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
The Marauders have had two athletes earn NSIC athlete of the week honors.

Lauren Rotunda has earned the honor three times. She first earned the honor for her 19 point, eight rebound, six assist performance against Minot State during a dominant 81-60 win. Later on, she would repeat as NSIC North Player of the Week for her 23 PPG, 6 RPG, and 2 APG weekend in a pair of wins over UMC and BSU. She earned the honor for the third time for her 20.5 PPG and 8.5 RPG weekend with wins coming against UIU and WSU.
Cassie Askvig has earned the honor twice. She earned hers after averaging 34 PPG and 5.5 RPG. Her most recent award was after she posted 23.5 PPG and six RPG in two UMary wins.
CLIMBING THE MARAUDERS ALL TIME RANKINGS
Cassie Askvig currently has 1,698 career points and 820 career rebounds. She ranks sixth all-time in points and fifth all-time in rebounds. She also sits sixth all-time in career blocks with 70.
