2/19/2020 3:11:00 PM

ABERDEEN, SD – The University of Mary wrestling team is set to take on Northern State in the regular season finale this Thursday, February 20. The dual was rescheduled to this date from earlier in this season due to a winter storm. The Marauders and Wolves will face off beginning at 7 PM.
The last time the Marauders took the mat was for two big NSIC wins. The Marauders began the week with a 31-13 road win over MSU Moorhead. UMary was led by Jeremy Leintz, Braydon Huber, and Payton Hume who all posted bonus point wins, including back to back pins by Huber and Hume. UMary followed the win over MSUM with a dominant victory over Minot State in the battle for the barrel. The Marauders downed the Beavers by a score of 35-6. UMary won the last six bouts of the night with the final five coming by bonus points.

Northern State comes into the weekend ranked 23rd in the nation with a 9-7 record overall and a 2-5 mark in the Northern Sun. The Wolves are led by three nationally ranked wrestlers. James Burk checks in at third at 157 lbs, Cade Borwn at tenth in 149, and Marcus Placide at 11th at 184.

The 5-7 Marauders are led by two nationally ranked wrestlers. Braydon Huber (157) comes into the week ranked 12th in the nation. Phillip Springsteen (174) ranks seventh in the nation.

Braydon Huber will be looking to chase down Marauders history this week. UMary's redshirt freshman is just five takedowns away from setting the single season takedown record.

Dominic Tudor and Phillip Springsteen have both climbed into the top 5 for UMary in All-Time wins. The duo is tied at fourth place with 54 career wins.
