Tuesday's Marauders-Beavers baseball gametime shifted to 12:50 pm, BEK Sports to air games statewide

BISMARCK, ND – Hoping to beat the potential for late afternoon/early evening rain showers, the University of Mary home baseball game on Tuesday, April 16, against Minot State University will now start a little earlier than originally scheduled. First pitch for the Northern Sun doubleheader is now set for 12:50 pm at Bismarck Municipal Ballpark.

The games were originally slated to begin at 1:30 pm.

Both games of the NSIC twin bill will be aired statewide on BEK Sports. The broadcast begins at 12:45 pm and can be viewed on BEK via local cable providers on BEK Sports and on KNDB/KNDM in western North Dakota and KRDK in eastern North Dakota. The Marauders enter the game with a record of 12-20 overall and 8-12 in the NSIC. UMary is currently eighth in the NSIC standings. The top eight teams qualify for the conference tournament. Defending conference champion Minot State is 21-12 and 14-6 (5^th place).

In his last five games, Sr. OF Jesus Payan was 12-for-18 with a slash line of .667/.700/.944. He hit a home run and two doubles, scored twice and drove in eight runs. Payan capped the week with a 4-for-5 effort against UMC, hitting a home run and driving in five runs to tie the Marauders NCAA-era single game mark…
Connor Doll hit .400/.478/.400 (8-for-20), scoring three time and driving in three runs. He had the game-winning RBI against Winona State when he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to force home the winning run.
In two appearances last week, Charles Bielejeski picked up his first collegiate win against Winona State and a save against UMC. He pitched 3.2 scoreless innings, allowing two hits and two walks and striking out five.
The Marauders wrap up a streak of 12 straight scheduled home games. After playing a 4-game home set at Minnesota Duluth this weekend, the Marauders then play another five straight games at home.
Darius Barlas has a team-high eight home runs, the most by a Marauders player since Andy Leer and Tyler Liffrig hit nine each in 2010.
