CLERMONT, FL – The University of Mary softball team earned a split for the fifth straight day at the Florida Invite. The Marauders were led by Keller and Noble who each recorded a pair of hits in each of the two ball games today. Three Marauders recorded a pair of hits in the teams 9-1 win against Notre Dame College.
Brieann Backes was a force on the mound only allowing one earned run on the game, striking out three, and only allowing four hits. The Marauders fell to Cedarville 11-6 in the second game of the day. With today's split the Marauders are 8-10 on the season.

The Marauders only needed five innings to take down NDC. The Marauders recorded at least one run in all five innings with a three run second inning being the highest scoring of them all. The Marauders put nine balls into play which accounted for nine runs.
PIVOT POINT
The game was locked at one a piece entering the second inning when the Marauders rallied together three runs to break the game wide open. A sacrifice fly by
Kylie Alto got the inning going, knocking in a run. A
Mariah Sanchez single and a
Haley Berube double knocked in another two runs in the second inning for the Marauders.

Of the Marauders nine hits, four of them were for extra bases. UMary hit three doubles and a triple on the game.
GAME 2 Cedarville 11 UMary 6
UMary brought the bats against Cedarville, recording a game high of 12 hits. Four different Marauders recorded two hits on the game. The Marauders took the lead early and held onto it all the way up until the sixth inning when the Yellow Jackets recorded six runs to claim the victory.
PIVOT POINT
The Marauders held a 6-5 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth inning. The Yellow Jackets strung together six runs to take the lead and put the game out of reach for the Marauders.

The Marauders will close out play at the Florida Invite Tomorrow, March 8. UMary will take on Urbana University (Ohio) at 3 PM CST. They will follow that up with a game against Gannon University at 5:15 PM CST.
