CLERMONT, FL – The University of Mary softball team earned a split on day two at the Florida Invite. UMary started the day by falling to Seton Hill 11-3. A big second inning by the Griffin's propelled them to victory. The Marauders then bounced back and took down Bloomfield College 10-6. The Marauders recorded 10 runs off of nine hits against the Bears.
GAME 1 Seton Hill 11 University of Mary 3
The Marauders fell to 4-7 with their 11 to 3 loss to the Seton Hill Griffins. UMary had their toughest game of the season in the field so far this season recording three errors on the ball game. UMary recorded six hits on the ball game with
Rebekkah Keller leading the way with two.
PIVOT POINT
The game was very competitive for all but the second inning. The Griffins knocked in seven runs in the second to give themselves a 7-0 lead. SHU recorded seven of their thirteen hits on the game in that inning with Morgan Toal highlighting the inning with a three run blast. If it weren't for the second inning, it was a 4-3 competitive game.

STAT OF THE GAME
The Griffins recorded over half of their hits in the second inning (7) which accounted for seven runs. When the Marauders came out to respond in the bottom of the second they went three up and three down allowing SHU to keep momentum on their side.
GAME 2 Bloomfield College 6 UMary 10
The Marauders returned to their winning ways in game number two of the day against Bloomfield College. The Marauders recorded ten runs off of nine hits to take down the Bears. UMary found their rhythm in the middle of the game recording three runs in the third, two in the fourth, and three in the fifth. This gave the Marauders an 8-2 lead heading into the sixth when the Bears made things interesting by putting up four runs. A two run seventh inning by the Marauders put a halt to any hopes that Bloomfield had of making a comeback.

A combined eight runs between the third, fourth and fifth inning gave the Marauders an 8-2 lead. The Bears attempted to make a comeback but a two RBI triple by
Emma Noble in the seventh put the game out of reach for the Bears and sealed the deal on a win for UMary

Though the Marauders recorded a season high in errors (4) and left ten runners on base they battled hard and found a way to earn a big win.

The Marauders will continue to play at the Florida Invite on Monday, March 4. UMary will take on The College of Saint Rose at 2:45 PM CST and Alderson Broaddus University at 5 PM CST.
