BISMARCK, ND – A tight ball throughout the first 34 minutes of the ball game turned into a dominant win in favor of the University of Mary. The Northern State Wolves tied up the ball game with eight minutes left but then the Marauders put their foot on the gas and went on a 20-6 run to close out the ball game. UMary took down NSU by a score of 69-55.
With the win the Marauders improve to 17-7 overall and 15-6 in the NSIC. Northern State falls to 9-18 overall and 6-15 in the Northern Sun.
A pair of trey's on back to back possessions by
Tonya Dvorak and
Coral Gillette sparked the Marauders to a 10-2 lead early. NSU fought back to take a 12-10 lead which was their largest lead of the ball game. A drive and dish by

Gabbie Bohl for a buzzer beating layup gave UMary a 21-15 lead at the end of the first quarter.
NSU worked their way back into the ball game and took a one point lead with three minutes left in the half. A three by Gillette gave the Marauders some momentum heading into the half.
A big defensive stand in the fourth quarter that featured two big blocks by Bohl and Gillette seemingly sparked the Marauders big run to close out the game. Bohl recorded nine points as part of UMary's 20-6 run to close out the ball game.
It was a great shooting performance for the Marauders with the team knocking down 55.3 percent of their shots from the field and 50 percent of their shots from deep.
Points off of turnovers were a big difference in the ball game with the Marauders outscoring the Wolves 26-12.
Gabbie Bohl did it all during the game, leading the team on both the offensive and defensive end of the court. The junior recorded a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. She added three assists, three blocks, and two steals to her stat line.
Cassie Askvig recorded 13 points, four rebounds and two assists.
Macy Williams scored eleven points to go along with her three assists.
Coral Gillette knocked down three, three pointers during the game for a total of nine points. She added two steals to her performance.
Tonya Dvorak posted nine points, five rebounds, and three assists.
UMary will be back in action tomorrow, February 23 at 3:30 PM in the MAC for their final regular season game of the year. The Marauders will take on the NSIC's top team, MSU Moorhead.
