ST. CLOUD, MN – The University of Mary's four-game win streak was snapped in an 88-56 loss at St. Cloud State University. Nine different players scored in the game for the Marauders with both
Jaylan White and
Matthew Kreklow reaching double figures.
White led the Marauders in scoring for the second straight game, posting 11 points for UMary. The senior guard added two assists. Kreklow added ten points and hauled down seven assists and has now reached double figures in points in all five games he has played this season.
The Marauders jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead on a basket by Kreklow and a 3-pointer from
Josh Sipes before the Huskies took control. SCSU staked themselves to a 39-21 lead at intermission and continued to build its lead throughout the second half.
Illya Tyrtyshnik hit five treys and scored 20 points for the Huskies. Andrija Blatanic added 19 and four Huskies reached double digits in points.
The Marauders (5-2 overall, 1-1 Northern Sun) shot 40.1 percent for the game but finished -10 in turnovers and -8 in rebounds. The Huskies (4-4, 1-1) shot 52.1 percent from the floor, including 62 percent in the second half.
UMary wraps up the first full weekend of Northern Sun play at Minnesota Duluth on Saturday, Dec. 7. Game time is 5:30 pm.
