MINOT, ND – The University of Mary wrestling team returns to dual action this weekend as they take on in-state rivals Minot State on Sunday, November 24. The Marauders and Beavers will square off at 5 PM in Minot.
LAST TIME OUT
The last time the Marauders took the mat this season was at the Cobber Open. 13 different University of Mary wrestlers placed at the Cobber Open with
Jeremy Leintz,
Braydon Huber, and
Dante Springsteen all being crowned champion. It was all three of their first open championships of the season.
LAST MEETING WITH MINOT
The Marauders and Beavers met up twice last season with the Marauders winning in both. UMary won the first matchup at home, taking down Minot State by a score of 31-12 in front of a record setting home crowd of 1,118.
The second dual of the season between the Marauders and Beavers came down to the final bout of the day with UMary reigning victorious. UMary took down Minot State by a score of 20-18 to win the Battle for the Barrel!

Phillip Springsteen is ranked sixth in the 184 lbs class in the NWCA Division II Preseason Poll.
PURSUIT OF TOP 25
The UMary wrestling team received votes in the preseason rankings, falling just outside of the top 25. The Marauders picked up nine points, falling just four points outside of ranking.
OPEN CHAMPS
Gerardo Jaime and
Dominic Tudor shared the Jamestown Open title in the 285 class with both wrestlers going 3-0 on the day before a double forfeit by both in the championship match made them co-champions.

Chandler Mooney earned the title at the Jamestown Open in the 149 class. Mooney went 4-0 on the day to claim his title.
Jeremy Leintz earned the 125 lbs weight class title at the Cobber Open. Leintz went 4-0 on the day to claim the title.
Braydon Huber was crowned champion of the 157 lbs class at the Cobber Open. Huber went 4-0 on the day to claim the win.
Dante Springsteen earned the 165 lbs title in the 165 lbs weight class at the Cobber Open. Springsteen went 4-0 on the day to iwn the title.
