Williams dishes out a career high in assists as Marauders take down Dickinson State

BISMARCK, ND – Recording assists on 27 of their 32 buckets on the game, the University of Mary women's basketball team featured as even offensive attack that led them to a 78-52 win over Dickinson State University during the Marauders second home game of the season. With assists being the name of the game tonight, it was point guard Macy Williams who led the team distributing the ball. Williams dished out a career high of 10 assists, two more than her previous best. Four different Marauders would find themselves in double figures during the matchup with Cassie Askvig leading the way for UMary with 22. Coral Gillette (18) and Lexie Schneider (16) came in right behind her with Rotunda pitching in 10.
 
With the victory the Marauders improve to 4-3 on the season.
 
FIRST HALF BREAKDOWN
The Marauders took the lead from the tip and never looked back. UMary jumped out to a 13-0 lead in the first quarter, holding the Blue Hawks scoreless for the first six minutes of play. The Marauders ended the half with a three pointer from Cassie Askvig as the clock ran down to zero to take a 16 point lead to half. The Marauders shot 65 percent from the field in the first half. Askvig and Schneider combined for 27 of the Marauders 41 first half points.
 
SECOND HALF BREAKDOWN
Macy Williams took over the offense in the second half, dishing out six of her ten assists. Williams distributed the assists and Gillette got the points in the second half, recording 16 of her 18 points in half number two. She knocked down four three's in the half. Gillette knocked down a three at the buzzer to end the third period and put UMary up 19 heading to the fourth. UMary continued to build on their lead into the fourth quarter, finishing out the game with a 26 point lead, the largest of the game.
