Marauders Men’s Soccer Set To Host Final Two Home Games Of Season Against Presentation, Dakota Wesleyan

BISMARCK, ND – After a western road trip, the University of Mary men's soccer team returns home to celebrate 25 seasons of Marauders soccer by playing a pair of games at home. The Marauders will host Presentation College on Sunday, October 6 at 3:30 PM. They will follow that up with a game on Wednesday, October 9 at 7 PM against Dakota Wesleyan. Both games will be played at the MDU Resources Community Bowl.

 

Presentation College comes into the game against the Marauders with a 1-8 record. The last time the Marauders and the Saints met was last season in Aberdeen, SD. The Marauders claimed victory with a 2-1 win. Blake Palmquist accounted for the first goal of the game. The last time the two squared off in Bismarck, UMary held the advantage, taking down the Saints 6-0.

 

Dakota Wesleyan comes into the game against the Marauders with a 2-4-2 record. The Tigers and Marauders have played one another each of the last three years. The Marauders have a 2-1 record over DWU over that time, with the Tigers taking the most recent matchup last season. The previous two games the Marauders outscored the Tigers by three goals in each game.

 

Blake Palmquist, Tresor Mugawaneza, Adam Stringer, Joseph Frediani, and Luca Manzotti have all recorded a goal on the season.

 

Palmquist and Stanley Joseph each have an assist on the season.

 

Evandro Henrique leads the Marauders in both shots (15) and shots on goal (6).

 

Dawson Fairchild is leading the Marauders in saves with 40 over his five appearances this season.

 

25th SEASON OF MARAUDERS SOCCER CELEBRATION
The first University of Mary soccer teams took to the pitch for the first time in 1995 and this season we are celebrating 25 seasons of Marauders men's and women's soccer! All former Marauders soccer players and coaches are invited to campus the weekend of Oct. 5-6, 2019, to celebrate the rich history of both programs. On Saturday, Oct. 5, an Alumni Social will be held on campus. Both the women's and men's teams then play a doubleheader on Sunday, Oct. 6, at the MDU Resources Community Bowl. Starting the day with tailgating and hamburgers available for purchase from Reza's Pitch at 10 am, the UMary women host Concordia-St. Paul at 1 pm before the men's side takes on Presentation College at 3:30 pm. REZA'S PITCH SCHOLARSHIP FUNDRAISER MAKES RETURN ON SUNDAY, OCT. 6
For a second straight year, Reza's Pitch is making a special one-day limited appearance. In celebration of the 25th season of University of Mary soccer, Reza's Pitch returns Sunday, Oct. 6, prior to the Marauders men's and women's soccer doubleheader as a scholarship fundraiser for both programs… From 10 am to 1 pm on Sunday, Oct. 6, in the MDU Resources Community Bowl north parking lot, employees of the old Reza's Pitch, spearheaded by owner Reza Kamranian, will serve their classic burgers featuring many of your favorite toppings once again.The cost for a burger, chips, water and a ticket to the Marauders soccer doubleheader is $15. The price for fans who have a Marauders season ticket, a ticket to one of Sunday's games or are 12 years of age or younger is $10… All proceeds from the Reza's Pitch event supports the University of Mary Marauders Armada, which directly benefits student-athlete scholarships. Support for the Marauders Armada provides UMary students the opportunity to receive a world-class education while competing in NCAA Division II athletics.

 

BEK SPORTS TO AIR MARAUDERS SOCCER DOUBLEHEADER ON SUNDAY, OCT. 6
The Marauders men's and women's soccer doubleheader on Sunday, Oct. 6, will be broadcast statewide throughout North Dakota by the BEK Broadcasting Network. The UMary women's game against Concordia-St. Paul is scheduled for 1 pm. The UMary men's soccer game against Presentation College is slated for 3:30 pm, both from the MDU Resources Community Bowl in Bismarck, ND. Corey Brooks will call the game for BEK Sports.
