The University of Mary volleyball team will take to the road this weekend. The Marauders will start the mini road trip 6 pm on Friday, September 21, at Bemidji State University. The Marauders will follow up by heading to Crookston, Minn., where UMary faces the University of Minnesota Crookston at 2 pm on Saturday, September 22.

LAST TIME OUT
The Marauders had a busy week last week, hosting three home matches. The Marauders opened the week against Minot State in three very closely-contested matches that all eventually went to the Beavers. The Marauders had their hands full the rest of the week, first falling in three sets to visiting St. Cloud State on Friday. #6 Minnesota Duluth was in town on Saturday and the Bulldogs demonstrated why they are a national powerhouse, also beating the Marauders in three straight sets.

OPPO RESEARCH – BEMIDJI STATE UNIVERSITY
Bemidji State University comes into the match against UMary on a two-game losing streak with an overall record of 4-9. The Beavers are 1-4 in conference play with their only win coming from a sweep against Minnesota Crookston.

The last time the Marauders played the Beavers was in the 2017 season when the Marauders swept the Beavers in three straight sets.

"SETTING" UP FOR SUCCESS
Sydney Murphy continued to set her teammates up for kill after kill. The sophomore lead the Marauders in assists every game this week, posting a game high in assists with 33 against Minot State.

"ACE" UP THE SLEEVE
The Marauders have aced a total of 43 serves on the season. This is good enough to rank fifth in the nation's best volleyball conference. The Marauders have two athletes featured in the top 10 in the division in individual aces.

NOT IN OUR HOUSE
Madison Bergthold returned from injury in a big way, recording nine blocks in her three games during the week to average a block per set all week!
Katja Berge added an additional six blocks in three matches with a game-high of four against St. Cloud State University. Bergthold ranks 14th in the conference in blocks/set.

ATTACK AND KILL
Katja Berge recorded a team-high 23 kills over this past week, averaging 2.5 kills/set. Berge recorded an impressive .250 hitting percentage against Minot State.
Natalia Cruz added an additional 22 kills average 2.4 kills/set.
Julianna Hughes posted a team high .571 hitting percentage against the Huskies of St. Cloud State. Despite missing the past few games due to injury,
Morgan Schnabel ranks 18th in the conference in kills/set.
