BISMARCK, ND – Due to over a foot of snow dumped on Sioux Falls, SD, last weekend from winter storm Xanto, the midweek doubleheader between the University of Mary and the University of Sioux Falls is moving to western North Dakota one day later than planned.
Originally slated to play two Northern Sun games in Sioux Falls on Wednesday, the Marauders and the Cougars will face off on Thursday, April 19, in Watford City, ND. First pitch in the opening game is scheduled for 9:30 am at the RoughRider Complex
Still to play a game at home in the Capital City this season, this is the second trip to Watford City this season for the Marauders as UMary played the University of Minnesota Crookston on April 4.
Despite losing out on four home games against Southwest Minnesota State last weekend, UMary has played the second-most games league games in the NSIC this year with 20. Only four teams have played more than the Marauders 30 games.
Relying on team speed to generate runs, the Marauders are fourth in the NSIC in steals with 40. So. OF
Jaxon Ford is fifth in the NSIC in steals with 12 and fourth in walk/game (.57).

Jesus Payan is hitting .368/.409/.425 in his first year at UMary to lead the Marauders in all three categories. He has six doubles, 18 RBIs and 15 runs scored. The doubles and RBIs are also team-highs.

Travis Stevens owns a .405 on base percentage, second on the team.
The Marauders bullpen was solid last week as UMary relievers combined to allow just two runs in seven innings of relief against the Golden Bears, led by two scoreless innings by Sr. RHP

Will Karrer is among the NSIC leaders in appearances and has a team-best 1.64 ERA in 11 innings.
Kenny Slominski and
Ian Fisher both have 10 appearances.
Slominski, who also has made two starts and has 14 strikeouts in 18 innings this season, set the Marauders record for most career appearances last week when he pitched in both games of the Concordia-St. Paul doubleheader. His 73 career appearances pushes Slominski past his former teammate Travis Famias, who threw in 71 games for UMary.
Sioux Falls, who enters the game with a record of 9-21 overall and 9-11 in the NSIC, is led offensively by Josh Rehwaldt, who is hitting .411/.460/.643 with 18 runs scored, eight doubles, six home runs and 24 RBIs, all team highs. Dylan Gavin leads the pitching staff with a 3-4 record and a 2.66 earned run average in 47.1 innings pitched with 31 strikeouts.
UMary is scheduled to play at Northern State this weekend.
