The University of Mary wraps up six straight home games at the McDowell Activity Center with a pair of Northern Sun contests. The St. Cloud State University Huskies visit first on Friday, Nov. 7, at 7:30 pm. The homestand and the weekend concludes on Saturday, Nov. 8, when the University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs make their appearance at the MAC. Game time is 5:30 pm.

After winning their last four games – all at home - the Marauders are 4-3 overall and 1-0 in the Northern Sun.

LAST TIME OUT
Evan Anderson provided a spark off the bench and led a balanced University of Mary men's basketball team offensive attack in an 81-71 victory over visiting Mayville State University. The nonconference win is the fourth straight win for the Marauders, all coming at home in the McDowell Activity Center. Anderson scored a career-high 14 points, including 12 in the first half. Anderson hit 6-of-9 shots – including a long three just before the halftime buzzer for a 45-32 UMary lead – and made four steals.
Matthew Kreklow and
Jaylan White both had 13 points. White added four assists to his point total while Kreklow had four blocks, six rebounds and two assist.
Dennis Austin III scored 11 with four rebounds and
Lucas Mayer chipped in ten. Â
Tom Kubank just missed a double double with nine points and nine rebounds. The senior forward also had four assists. The Marauders had a solid shooting night, making 47.7 percent of their shots overall and 6-of-14 from behind the arc. Defensively UMary held Mayville State to a 35.2 percent shooting performance, including a 13-for-35 night behind the arc.

The broadcast of the Marauders men's and women's basketball games on Saturday, Dec. 8, against Minnesota Duluth moves down the radio dial to KFYR 550 AM from UMary's traditional home on Fox Sports 710.

The Marauders opened their six game home stand at the MAC with wins over Yellowstone Christian College, South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, Minot State University and Mayville State University. The Marauders wrap up their run of home games this weekend against St. Cloud State (12.7) and Minnesota Duluth (12.8).

OPPO RESEARCH VS. THE UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA DULUTH BULLDOGS
Led by All-Conference forward Brandon Myer, the Bulldogs are off to a strong start under first year head coach Justin Wieck at 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the NSIC after defeating St. Cloud State 91-81 on the road last weekend. The Bulldogs return all five starters from last season and nine players overall. Myer averages 21.8 ppg, third in the NSIC. He is fourth in rebounding at 9.0/game and is shooting 56.5 percent from the field. Sean Burns is one of the leading rebounders in the NSIC (8.0 rpg) and is second in field goal percentage (.658), averaging 11.8 ppg. Logan Rohrscheib chips in 11.8 ppg. UMD averages 81 ppg but is third in the NSIC in defensive scoring, allowing only 62.8 ppg. The Bulldogs top the NSIC in turnover margin at +5 per game.

HISTORY LESSON - MARAUDERS v. BULLDOGS
UMary trails Minnesota Duluth 7-12 in the all-time series… The Marauders first victory over the Bulldogs was an 80-77 overtime win on 1.16.09… UMD swept the season series last year, winning 63-58 in Duluth on Dec. 30, 2017, and 67-60 in Bismarck on Feb. 10, 2018… The Marauders last win over the Bulldogs was an 81-66 victory at home in the McDowell Activity Center on Feb. 11, 2017… The last UMary win at UMD was 82-72 on Jan. 29, 2011.

THE BORTKE COURT MAC ATTACK
The Marauders opened up their home schedule with a pair of wins this season after struggling last season at the McDowell Activity Center. Despite last year's setback, UMary has found success in recent seasons at the MAC.
