Marauders Down Rhema 112-32

BISMARCK, ND – The University of Mary women's basketball team put up over 100 points for the second time in as many games. The Rhema Eagles made the long trek from Oklahoma to take on the Marauders and would be downed by a score of 112-32. Six Marauders scored in double figures to guide UMary to a dominant 80 point victory.
 
The Marauders started the game off on a 19-0 run. Though the offense was outstanding to start the game it was the defense who didn't even let the Eagles get off a shot for nearly the first three minutes of play. After UMary's dominant start, Rhema played the Marauders relatively evenly for the remainder of the first quarter, finishing the quarter at a score of 33-11.
 
UMary outscored Rhema 24-9 in the second quarter to give the Marauders a 57-20 lead heading into the half. Gabbie Bohl would lead the Marauders with 17 points on 8-9 shooting to go along with her eight rebounds. Tonya Dvorak (10) and Coral Gillette (13) each recorded double digit points in the first half on a combined 5-8 shooting from behind the arc.
 
The Marauders started the second half just like they started the first half, on a big run. UMary kicked the half off on a 15-0 run as part of a 23-6 quarter to put UMary up 80-26 going into the final quarter.
 
The fourth quarter gave the opportunity for a lot of Marauders to see playing time and they rose to the occasion posting the best quarter of the game. UMary outscored the Eagles by a score of  32-6 in the fourth to seal the deal on the 112-32 victory. Shea Heidlebaugh led UMary in the fourth quarter by knocking down three, three pointers.
 
Bohl scored a game high of 22 points in her 14 minutes of play. She recorded nine rebounds, two blocks, and a steal on the day as well.
 
Lexie Schneider recorded a double-double on the day with 15 points and 11 boards. She was tied for the game high in assists (4) and blocks (2). Her 11 rebounds were also a game high.
 
Coral Gillette shot 50 percent from the field, scoring 15 points.
 
Tonya Dvorak tied the game high in assists with 4 to go along with her 12 ponts.
 
Cassie Askvig recorded a well rounded 10 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and three steals on the day.
 
UMary used their size to their advantage against the Eagles, outscoring Rhema 52-10 in the paint.
 
The Marauders would outscore Rhema 44-3 in points off of turnovers.
 
The University of Mary women's basketball team heads to Bellingham, Washington to compete in the Thanksgiving Classic. UMary will take on Western Washington on November 23 at 7 PM. They will follow that up with a game against Saint Martin's University on November 24 at 9:30 PM.
