Start time for Marauders baseball Parents, Senior Weekend pushed back on Friday

BISMARCK, ND – Opening day of the University of Mary baseball Parents and Senior Weekend against Northern State University will commence a couple hours later than planned. First pitch for the Marauders-Wolves doubleheader on Friday, April 14, is now set for 3:30 pm at Bismarck Municipal Stadium.

Start time on Saturday, April 15, remains at 12 noon.

The Marauders will honor eight seniors playing their final home weekend series for UMary. Andrew Beyer (Fargo, ND), Cory Dixon (Brooklyn Park, MN), Drew Feuerbach (Omaha, NE), Lane Huck (Trenton, ND), Seth Meide (Wahpeton, ND), Zackary Sharp (Carlyle, Saskatchewan), Nicholas Stobbe (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) and Jordan Sweep (Bemidji, MN) wrap up their careers this weekend.

Beyer, Meide, Stobbe and Sweep have played their entire collegiate careers with the Marauders. Feuerbach and Sharp played three years with UMary and Dixon and Huck are in their second season of competition.

Mary has won three of its last four games after sweeping Upper Iowa on Sunday and splitting a pair of road games at Concordia-St. Paul. The Marauders three-game win streak was the squad's longest of the season.

Beyer is pacing the Marauders offense out of the leadoff slot. The senior centerfielder leads UMary with a .342 batting average and a .402 on base percentage. He has a team-high 21 runs to go with four doubles, a triple and 12 RBIs.

Huck is the Marauders top run-producer this season, driving in 14 runs on a .321 batting average. Defensively the Marauders catcher has thrown out 13 attempted base stealers. Meide is tied with Connor Doll for the home run lead with two. The Marauders right fielder also has four doubles, scored 12 times and driven in 13 runs.

A couple recent additions to the lineup have also hit well. Travis Stevens, who has played first, been the designated hitter and is in the pitching rotation, is batting .333. Catcher Cody Ghents is hitting .318 (7-of-22) with a double and a triple. Playing in the middle of the infield, freshman Seth Severson has a .255 batting average.

Starting righthanders Stobbe and Jake Johnson both have two wins this season and have each struck out 32 hitters. Stobbe has a 4.03 ERA in 38 innings and has walked just 12.

Chris Scott had a big week pitching relief for Mary. The Marauders starting left fielder picked up a save on Sunday and a win Wednesday, both career firsts. Additionally, Dixon earned his first career save to close out Alec DaMaria's win over Upper Iowa. DeMaria pitched 6.1 innings of one hit one-run ball.

Isaac Saad, in four starts, has thrown 28 innings, walking just two and striking out 11. The junior righthander has a 3.54 ERA.

The Marauders sit 14th in the NSIC with a mark of 4-18 in league play and are 8-23 overall. Northern State is 6-12 and 13-17, sitting just a slot above the Marauders on the conference leaderboard.
