Home of all Marauders 2017 Signing Day announcements for football and men's and women's soccer


After several months spent on the road, on the phone and watching film, Marauders football and men's and women's soccer will announce their 2017 recruiting class on Wednesday, February 1. This is the first day graduating high school student-athletes can sign a National Letters of Intent with NCAA colleges and universities in those three sports.
 
As NLIs and commitment letters are received by the University of Mary compliance office, Marauders Sports Information will update this page throughout the day. Updates will also be posted on twitter at @umarysports.
 
A press conference will be held at 2 p.m. in Chicks Place on the Mary campus as the Marauders football and men's and women's soccer coaches will announce their 2017 signing classes. The public is invited to attend. The press conference will also be streamed live at: http://portal.stretchinternet.com/umary/
 
An official press release will be posted for each of the teams at the end of the day.

Jaden Andresen (WR, 6-2, 168, Fr., Mandan, ND/Mandan HS)

All-WDA performer in football as a senior… multi-sport athlete at Mandan (ND) High School… Also competed in baseball and basketball for the Braves… All-WDA baseball player as a sophomore and member of Mandan's state championship team… Son of Julie and Mark Andresen… Will pursue degree in Finance/Business at the University of Mary.


Ryan Nesheim (LB, 6-3, 200, Fr., Stanley, ND / Stanley HS)

Class AA all-region honorable mention selection as a senior at Stanley High School… football team captain… team offensive MVP as a sophomore… posted 37 tackles (28 solo), 1.5 sacks and 5.0 tackles for loss and completed 9-of-12 passes for 94 yards and one touchdown… recorded 27 tackles (18 solo) as a junior… as a sophomore registered 25.5 tackles and completed 19-of-25 passes for 289 yards and three touchdowns… had one catch for six yards and three solo tackles as a freshman… also team captain for baseball and basketball and won Bluejay award for both sports as a junior… Honor roll student… Son of Barb and Dave Nesheim… Pursuing an Athletic Training degree at the University of Mary.




Beau Skurdal (WR, 6-5, 190, Fr., Williston, ND / Williston Trinity Christian School)
Earned all-conference honorable mention honors as a senior and all-conference recognition his junior season at Trenton / Williston Trinity Christian School… 3-time team captain… offensive MVP as a junior…                                                                              Honor Roll student… Son of Robert and Julie Skurdal… Will major in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Mary.





Cameron Goetz (WR, 6-1, 175, Fr., Eden Prairie, MN / Eden Prairie High School)
Member of 2016 Minnesota Class 6A state tournament runner-up Eden Prairie High School… brother of current Marauders kicker Cody Goetz… multi-sport athlete who also competes in baseball and basketball… Son of Lisa Goetz and Gregg Goetz… Plans to pursue a Business degree at the University of Mary.

 
 

DeShawn Gay (WR, 5-9, 150, Fr., Dayton, OH / Trotwood Madison HS)

An all-state honorable mention and all-Southwest first team selection at Trotwood Madison High School in Trotwood, OH… earned all-GWOC league honors as both a junior and a senior… Scored three touchdowns on offense, defense and special teams as a senior… member of the OHSSA Division II state champions in 2012… Son of Lakiesha Mathews and Darrell Mathews.




Jamison Lytle (LB, Boiling Springs HS)
 2015 defensive most valuable player at Boiling Springs High School… 2015 team captain… recorded 107 tackles, forced three fumbles and intercepted one pass in 2015.

 
 

Chance Otterberg (OL, 6-4, 235, Fr., Bismarck, ND / Century HS)

Helped Century High School win back-to-back state titles in 2015-16 as a junior and senior… multi-sport athlete whi also has competed in basketball and track & field… Son of Jeff and Debbie Otterberg… Will major in Biology at the University of Mary.


 
 

Dylan Thomsen (OL, 6-2, 235, Fr., Thompson, ND / Thompson HS)

Led team to 2016 North Dakota nine-man state championship… Helped Tommies run for 342 yards/game as senior… four-year letter winner in football… also golfs for high school… Honor Roll student… National Honor Roll student… plays in school jazz band… youth football coach and punt-pass-and-kick volunteer… Special Olympics golf tournament volunteer… Son of Brad and Stacey Thomsen… Will major in athletic training at the University of Mary.


 

Logan Key (FB, 6-1, 190, Fr., Gilby, ND / Midway Public School)

1st team all-region performer as a senior at Midway High School in 2016… Ran for 619 yards and nine touchdowns on 86 carries and posted 52 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, three sacks and eight 2-point conversions… 2nd team all-region as a sophomore and junior… finished with 210 tackles, three fumble recoveries and 38 tackles for loss in his career… led state Class B in regular season tackles… team defensive most valuable player as a junior and team MVP as a senior… Honor roll student… Student of the Quarter… Son of Thomas Brusegaard… Plans to major in Engineering at the University of Mary.




Royce Verkuehlen (RB, 5-9, 172, Fr., Larimore, ND / Larimore HS)
All-state football selection as a senior at Larimore High School… led Polar Bears to three region championships in four seasons… team captain in both football and basketball as a senior… also earned all-region honors in football and basketball his junior season… Ran for 1,168 yards on 147 carries and scored 20 total touchdowns his senior season in 2016… finished high school career with 2,671 rushing yards on 340 carries and scored 50 total touchdowns…  
Ran on school's 4x200 relay team that placed third in state in 2016 with a school-record time of 1:32.53… A member of FBLA and student council… Son of Jennifer and Tyrone Verkuehlen… Plans to major in Business at the University of Mary.
 
 

Luke Little (WR, 6-3, 210, Fr., Bismarck, ND / Century HS)

First team all-state and all-conference as a senior in 2016 at Century (ND) High School… Helped lead the Patriots to state championship his senior season.… Had 31 catches for 615 yards and eight touchdowns as a senior…Won team's Rock Award for most time put into the weight room… throws javelin in track & field… National Honor Society member… Son of Nathan Little and Beth Mertz… Intends to major in Business and Finance at the University of Mary.


 

Angus Lund (FB, 6-0, 205, Baker, MT / Baker HS)

All-state selection as a sophomore and junior at Baker High School… helped Baker to the 2014 state title… team captain as a junior and senior and team offensive MVP as a senior… three-time all-conference choice as a sophomore, junior and senior (2014-16)… as a senior ran for 812 yards and 16 touchdowns on 112 carries, had four 2-point conversions, scored 104 points, made 64 tackles (49 solo) and recovered one fumble… Multi-sport athlete who also competes in basketball and track… Honor Roll selection… Academic All-Conference performer… Son of Steve and Melanie Lund… Intends to major in Physical Therapy at the University of Mary.


 

Tazz Middleton (DB, 5-9, Fr., Glendale, AZ / Apollo HS)

Two-time all-region selection at Apollo High School… all-metro 2nd team defensive back… had 30 tackles, three interceptions, 700 all-purpose yards and eight touchdowns… two-year football letter winner… played quarterback, wide receiver, defensive back and was on special teams… top ten in school history in triple jump and 300 meter dash… son of Marlay Middleton… will pursue a degree in Athletic Training or Physical Therapy at the University of Mary.

Will Blewett (ILB, 6-1, Fr., Belgrade, MT / Belgrade HS)

All-State inside linebacker his senior year at Belgrade (MT) HS… earned all-conference honors as a linebacker as a sophomore, junior and senior… all-conference offensive lineman as a junior and senior… Team captain his senior year… posted 85 tackles and 5.5 sacks his final high school season… Earned academic all-state honors in football, basketball, wrestling and track… National Honor Society member… The son of Marlo Arthun and Keith Blewett… older brother Grady is a sophomore linebacker with the Marauders… plans to major in Engineering at the University of Mary

Wyatt Roe (DE, 6-4, 210, Fr., Shepherd, MT / Billings Central Catholic HS)

All-conference performer as a senior at Billings Central Catholic High School… team captain and defensive most valuable player… 67 tackles with 8.5 sacks and 16 tackles for loss, 20 hurries, three passes defensed, two forced fumbles and one blocked kick… two-time all-conference hurdler… Son of Bryan and Bridget Roe… Plans to pursue a Business degree at the University of Mary.

 

Brady Babb (DB, 5-11, 185, Fr., Wolf Point, MT / Wolf Point HS)

Montana Class B All-Star football game selection as a senior… Football team captain at Wolf Point (MT) High School… team MVP as a junior and senior… All-conference linebacker as a senior… All-conference at linebacker and quarterback his junior year… Horizon award-winner as a sophomore… Multi-sport athlete who also plays basketball and competes in track & field in the pole vault and middle distances… Posted 300 yards and five touchdowns against Harlem (MT) HS his junior year… National Honor Society… Academic Olympics member… Son of Brandon Babb… Will pursue a Business Administration or Athletic Training degree at the University of Mary.
 

Jaeger Marchant (DB, 6-0, 165, Fr., Bismarck, ND / Legacy HS)

A three-time team captain and four-year starter at Legacy High School… member of Legacy's first state playoff team… In two seasons as a varsity starter on defense he intercepted three passes, forced two fumbles and broke up seven passes… Legacy head coach Chris Clements is a former Mary linebacker and coach… youth basketball coach… Son of Tom and Amy Marchant… Will major in History Education at the University of Mary.


 

Will Rakowski (OL, 6-2, 273, Fr., Grand Forks, ND / Red River HS)

All-state second team and all-conference offensive lineman at Red River High School… team captain… Honor Roll student… Student of the Month recipient… member of school's leadership council… school mentor… volunteers with Special Olympics and youth football… Son of Jeffrey and Tina Rakowski… Pursuing a degree in Education at the University of Mary.

Nick Stahl (DE, 6-4, 215, Fr., Grand Forks, ND / Red River HS)

All-state second team and All-EDC selection as a senior at Red River High School… team captain as a senior… led Rough Riders to playoffs… ended season with 70 tackles, four sacks, six hurries, 6.5 tackles for loss, three fumble recoveries… Son of Heidi Andruski and Greg Stahl… Will major in exercise science at the University of Mary.


 

Corwin Bush (SB, 5-10, 170, Fr., Toledo, OH / Cheyenne (NV) High School)

Four-time team captain and two-time team most valuable player at Cheyenne High School in Las Vegas, NV… offensive MVP in 2013 and MVP in 2014 and 2016… ran 85 times for 438 yards, caught 36 passes for 499 yards and scored eight touchdowns as a senior in 2016… 2nd team All-Sunset League selection at wide receiver as a junior in 2015… multi-sport athlete will also run track in college for the Marauders… a member of the state runner-up 4x100 and 4x200 meter relay teams in 2016… Son of Equateisha Rayford… Will major in Computer Engineering at the University of Mary.

 


Marquell Evans (SB/WR/DB/KR, 5-9, 170, Fr., North Las Vegas, NV / Legacy HS)

1st team all-league wide receiver as a senior at Legacy HS… Caught 19 passes for 345 yards and one touchdown and scored two touchdowns total as a senior… In his career he caught 24 passes for 452 yards and two touchdowns and scored three touchdowns total… multi-sport athlete who the track & field Coaches' Award at his high school… helped father coach youth basketball at local recreation center… has been involved in school theater productions… National Honor Society member… selected as Scholar of the Month… The son of Kevin and Imi Watts Evans… Will major in Sports Management at the University of Mary.



Brannon Flowers (QB, 5-10, 180, Fr., Las Vegas, NV / Desert Oasis HS)

First-team all-league and second-team all-league honors as an Athlete… 3-time team captain… Compiled 11 touchdowns rushing and 11 passing with 1,500 total yards… Passed for Threw for nearly 900 yards and seven touchdowns and ran for eight scores as a junior in 2015 at Desert Oasis High School… also competes in track & field… participates in Fellowship of Christian Athletes… Son of Shaunna and Bruce Flowers… Majoring in Criminal Justice at the University of Mary.

Trevor Maxwell (DB, 5-10, 180, Fr., Queen Creek, AZ / Higley HS)

Helped lead Higley High School to the state playoffs… Registered 62 tackles and ran 50 times for 410 yards and five touchdowns… state track meet participant… Son of Todd Maxwell… Plans to major in Business at the University of Mary.


 

Keagan Jacobson (DB, 5-9, 155, Fr., Dickinson, ND / Dickinson Trinity HS)

All-conference honorable mention football player his senior year at Dickinson Trinity High School in 2016… two-year starter and four-year member of the varsity squad… Had 13 catches for 190 yards and two touchdowns on offense and 36 tackles (28 solo) with one interception as a senior… Caught nine passes for 87 yards and two scores and registered 27 tackles (15 solo) and recovered two fumbles his junior season… for his career had 22 catches for 277 yards and four touchdowns and made 63 tackles (43 solo) with two fumble recoveries and one interception… multi-sport athlete who also competes in basketball and golf… Son of Tammy Hovet and Brian Jacobson… Plans to major in Education at the University of Mary.


 

Devin Gaddy (FB, 5-11, 199, Fr., Tonelea, AZ / Chaparral (NV) HS)

Earned 1st team all-state, 1st team all-conference and 2nd team All-USA Nevada football team honors at wide receiver as a senior at Chaparral High School in Las Vegas, NV… posted 43 receptions, 849 receiving yards and scored 18 touchdowns… also made nine interceptions… selected as his team's best wide receiver and linebacker… has earned Student of the Month honors… Son of Katherine Rhemrev… undecided on a major.


 

Shane Gonnelly (LB, 5-11, 200, Fr., Watertown, SD / Watertown HS)

Two-time state powerlifting champion… played both fullback and linebacker for Watertown High School… 3-time varsity letterwinner in football…selected to the South Dakota Football Academic All-State team… Boys State delegate… son of Kaylene and Thomas Gonnelly… A pre-med major at the University of Mary.
