On the final University of Mary baseball home weekend of the 2016 season, the Marauders will honor their Alumni, the Military, the student-athlete's parents and the squad's six graduating seniors during a four-game set against Bemidji State University on Saturday, April 30, and Sunday, May 1. Start time for the two Northern Sun doubleheaders is noon both days at Municipal Ballpark.

TAILGATING
The weekend kicks off with tailgating at Municipal Ballpark at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 30. Courtesy of Cloverdale, free food will be served until game time. Fans must provide their own beverages.

ALUMNI DAY
Marauders baseball alumni are invited to take early batting practice at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, and stay to be recognized before the first game. A social for Marauders alumni baseball players is set for Bruno's Pizza from 7-9 p.m.

MILITARY APPRECIATION DAY
Current and former members of the United States military are invited to attend the Marauders-Beavers games on Saturday to be honored throughout the day.

SENIORS
A native of Chanhassen, Minn.,
Sean Hennen transferred to the University of Mary from Ellsworth Community College before his junior year. A catcher by trade, he also has seen time in the outfield and as the designated hitter. One of the leading hitters on the team last year, Sean hit .293 and drove in a team-leading 25 runs. In two seasons at U-Mary he's started nearly 60 games and is a lifetime .272 hitter. The son of John and Lisa Hennen, Sean is an accounting major.

The University of Mary's all-time leader in innings pitched and career strikeouts,
McKeon Meyhoff is a four-year starter for the Marauders. Named the U-Mary Inspirational Student-Athlete last spring after returning from a serious injury, he senior from Hazen, N.D., has pitched over 209 innings and collected more than 147 strikeouts. McKeon, the son of Terry and Deb Meyhoff, majors in Biology with a minor in Chemistry and is a member of the Northern Sun all-academic team.

A four-year member of the Marauders baseball team,
Evan Morehead is a left-handed pitcher from Forest Lake, Minn. The relief specialist has appeared in 13 games in his career, including six games in each of the two prior seasons. The son of Jim and Jean Morehead, Evan is majoring in athletic training.

Marauders shortstop
Mason Schiff is a three-year starter for the Marauders. The Dickinson, N.D., native held down third base as a sophomore and moved to short the last two years. He has started 85 of the Marauders last 88 games and is in the top ten of the school's NCAA era in career games started with 121. In his career he has compiled 70 hits and scored 39 runs. The son of Jerry and Janel Schiff, Mason graduated last fall with a degree in Business Administration and is working on his MBA.

Jason Shaul wraps up his career as one of the best hitters in Marauders history. An All-Northern Sun selection as a junior in 2014, Jason is second all-time at U-Mary with a career .368 batting average. In three years after transferring from Ridgewater Community College, Jason will finish among the Marauders career leaders in hits, doubles, triples, home runs and runs scored. After missing last year due to injury, the New Ulm, Minnesota, native has been among the NCAA leaders on hitting and on base percentage this season. A former NSIC Player of the Week and a member of the Northern Sun all-academic team, Jason is the son of Michael and Angela Shaul and graduates with a degree in Exercise Science and minors in coaching and wellness.

A key member of the Marauders pitching staff the last three years, West Fargo, N.D., native
Zach Steckler has worked on the mound as both a starter and closer. After transferring to U-Mary from Fergus Falls Community College as a sophomore, Zach has pitched 110 innings over 45 games, including 16 starts, and has struck out 88 hitters. He has two wins and three saves. Zach is the son of Joan and Leon Steckler.

The University of Mary is 6-32 overall and 4-21 in the Northern Sun… Bemidji State University is 11-33 and 8-20.

HISTORY
The Marauders have lost seven straight against the Beavers. The Marauders last won 2-0 on April 6, 2014, in a home game played at the Shiloh Christian Field. U-Mary lost the next three at home and all four games played last season at BSU… All-time the Marauders are 9-15 against the Beavers, including a 6-8 record in games played in Bismarck.

Will Pettener became the fourth U-Mary player to post at least four hits in a game this season, a total reached just 26 times since the Marauders joined the Northern Sun and NCAA Division II for the 2007 baseball season. At Minot State in game two on Wednesday, Pettener was 4-for-5 with a home run, a run scored and two RBIs. The four hits is a career-high… Earlier this season
Jason Shaul had a five-hit game at Concordia-St. Paul,
Trenten Hove posted four hits at Winona State and
Brad Meyer had a four-hit game at Point Park.

Marauders pitchers have racked up some big strikeout totals this past week. In game one of the Minnesota Crookston series,
McKeon Meyhoff punched out 11 Golden Eagles in just five innings for a career-high and one off Kyal Williams' U-Mary NCAA era record of 12. It was the second time Meyhoff reached double digits this season after fanning 10 against Findlay… In a six-inning relief outing on Saturday against UMC,
Jake Johnson struck out 10, his new career high… At Minot State Wednesday,
Zach Steckler stuck out a career-high nine Beavers.

McKeon Meyhoff set Marauders career records in his start against Minnesota Crookston. The senior from Hazen, N.D., has 209.2 career innings pitched and 147 strikeouts in his four seasons at U-Mary. The records had been 206.1 innings for
Michael Vollrath, set last year, and 142 strikeouts by Kyle Lozensky.
