BISMARCK, N.D. - The University of Mary captured its first dual and Northern Sun win over Minot State, 20-18 Friday, Dec. 16 inside the McDowell Activity Center.

The dual was close the entire way and the Marauders jumped out to an early 5-3 lead after
Tate Barnhardt (133) defeated Dean Arevalo of MSU by a technical fall. With the win, Barnhardt collected his 12th win of the season.

Mary had hiccups at the 141 and 149 weight classes as
Reed Cronin fell to Jered Sublet in a 7-4 decision and Cody Haugen beat
Hunter Eckert in a 4-2 decision. After the Beavers scooped up back-to-back three points, MSU took a 9-5 lead.

However,
Dane Fischer (165) beat Anthony Raupp by a fall (2:47) and the Marauders took a 11-9 lead into intermission.

Carlos Toledano (174) started the comeback for the Beavers after defeating
Austin Eichmann by a 8-2 decision and Keegan Berry (184) used a 3-2 decision to defeat
Jonathan Pelach and the Beavers trailed 17-15 with two matches to go in the dual.

Jacob Green (197) won the final match for the Marauders after defeating Briley Crissler by a 3-1 decision to put the Marauders up 20-15 with one match left to go.
Â
Dominic Tudor (285) fell to Mitchell Eull by a 4-0 decision and the Beavers picked up three points in the final match of the dual but it wasn't enough as the Marauders won its first NSIC dual of the year.
Â
The Marauders will be back in action Jan. 6 at 7 p.m. against the University of Jamestown.
