THANKS SENIORS
Two Marauders are playing their final home games this weekend. A pair of lefties, Michael Vollrath and Travis Famias, are four-year contributors and will leave their names in the Mary record books. A native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Vollrath moved into the Marauders rotation as a freshman and has started a school-record 33 games and has pitched a school-record 192.1 career innings. Both makes were established in the Marauders 4-3 win over Minot State on Wednesday. He has pitched in 48 games, thrown three complete games and has five career wins… A reliever from Bismarck, N.D., Famias has appeared in a school-record 68 games. He has two wins and five saves for Mary with fifty strikeouts in 65.1 innings.

CLEAN SWEEP
The Marauders earned their first sweep in a year and their first conference sweep in two years when Mary nudged visiting Minot State 4-3 and 6-5. The doubleheader sweep was the first for the Marauders at home since taking two from the University of Winnipeg last year on April 17. The last time Mary swept a Northern Sun doubleheader was at home on April 6, 2013, against Bemidji State University.

THAT'S SOME RELIEF
The Marauders bullpen was spectacular in Mary's sweep of the Beavers. Five relievers combined to throw seven shutout innings, allowing four hits and four walks while striking out seven. Leading the way was McKeon Meyhoff. In 2.1 scoreless innings the Marauders #1 starter struck out five hitters and allowed two hits and two walks.

FIRST
Starting pitcher Jake Johnson earned his first collegiate win in the Marauders 6-5 comeback win over the Beavers. The freshman threw 1.2 scoreless innings of relief, allowing one hit and striking out two.

LUCKY 13
Mary's pitchers combined to strike out 13 Beavers in the Marauders 6-5 win on Wednesday, the most by the school's pitching staff in a single game during Mary's NCAA era (2007 and on). Austin Ell struck out five in five innings. In relief, Nicholas Stobbe posted one strike out in one inning, five in 2.1 innings for McKeon Meyhoff and two in 1.2 innings for Jake Johnson.

SEVEN HEAVEN
Over a span of three games, OF Cory Dixon posted an amazing seven straight hits. The sensational streak started with two hits at the end of the opening game Saturday at Minnesota Crookston. He followed with a 3-for-3 effort in game two against the Golden Eagles. The Brooklyn Park, Minn., native then hit consecutive singles to start the opening doubleheader against Minot State on Tuesday.

UP NEXT
The Marauders home schedule wraps up on Wednesday, April 29, when Northern State University visits for "Fins and Feathers Appreciation Day," an opportunity for the baseball team to recognize and thank everyone who made the Fins and Feathers fundraiser a success.
