Marauders Defeat BraveHearts 100-37

BISMARCK, N.D. - Four players scored in double digit figures tonight, powering the University of Mary Women's Basketball team to a triple-digit finish over Oglala Lakota College as U-Mary celebrated Parent's Weekend.

The Marauders (2-2) jumped out to a massive lead in the first quarter and cruised all the way to a 100-37 finish over the BraveHearts, marking the first game of the season where U-Mary broke the century barrier.

Hannah Larson and Dani Clarke took it upon themselves to score the first 11 points of the game for U-Mary, followed by a Brittney Dietz three-pointer and subsequent layup, with Anna Schmelzer providing another layup that allowed the Marauders to open up the game on a 18-0 run before Oglala Lakota could record their first basket. The Marauders had a showcase of a stringent defense through the remainder of the quarter as they ended with a 28-2 lead over the BraveHearts.

U-Mary started launching a slew of perimeter shots early in the second quarter to keep the pace up, which Oglala Lakota could not match, as the Marauders opened up the quarter on a 13-3 run. U-Mary ended the quarter up 52-10 over the BraveHearts.

The offensive firepower would not slow as the Marauders extended their lead to 72-25 by the end of the third quarter, and 100-37 by the end of the game.
