Box Score BISMARCK, N.D. – With a second overtime seemingly right around the corner, the end struck quickly and in devastating fashion for the University of Mary women's soccer team. The Marauders dropped a 2-1 decision to Bemidji State University on a penalty kick in the 99
th minute of play. 
This was the third overtime game in five outings this season for U-Mary. 
With just 1:22 left in the first overtime and the Beavers (3-2 overall / 2-0 Northern Sun) on the attack, a Marauders (1-2-2 / 0-1-1) defender was called for a handball inside the penalty area. Awarded a penalty kick, Bemidji State sent Sarah Stram to the penalty spot. 
With one goal already in her column today, Stram drove the ball into the lower left corner for the winning counter in the Northern Sun contest, ending the game in a sudden and stunning fashion. 
U-Mary opened the scoring in the first half on 
Michelle McGeary's third goal of the season. Taking a feed from 
Mykala Benjamin, McGeary drove the ball home on a single touch for a 1-0 Marauders lead at 31:44. 
Stram evened the match in the 61
st minute, connecting high over the goalkeeper from 20 yards away on the right side. 
A tight game, the Marauders held an advantage on shots taken (12-10) and shots on frame (5-3). The Beavers had a 5-3 edge in corner kicks. 
McGeary was the Marauders main offensive threat. In addition to her goal, the junior midfielder had three shots, all on frame. Stram took seven shots for BSU with three on target. 
Shelby Buttron was forced to make one save for the Marauders. Sonja Barr had four stops for the Beavers. 
U-Mary continues is eight game home stand against the University of Minnesota Crookston on Sunday, Sept. 21. Kickoff is 1 p.m. at the MDU Resources Community Bowl.
