U-Mary took the first game by a score of 10-1 and completed the sweep holding on for a 4-2 win in the second game.

Julissa Perales led the Marauders offense going 4-for-7 with three home runs (7) on the day, including a three run homer in the second game. Perales finished the day with five RBI (30).

GAME 1

A First inning three-run home run by Kristin Ormsby coupled with Trujillo striking out the side in both the first and second innings set the tone as U-Mary cruised to a 10-1 win in the opener.

Ormsby finished the game going 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI. Perales also went 3-for-4 with two home runs, both of which were solo shots.

Picking up her first six outs via strikeout, Trujillo finished with a season-high 13 strikeouts and allowed just one run in a complete game effort as she moved to 9-6 on the season.

Allison Brown and Alana Norman led off the game with back-to-back singles and Ormsby followed with a three-run bomb to right center. The Marauders added an unearned run as they took a 4-0 lead to start the game.

Down 4-0, the Golden Bears lead off hitter started the third with a bunt single and stole second and third.  CU delivered a one-out RBI double, but Trujillo struck out the next two batters to end the inning.

Perales led off the fifth inning with a solo home run to center field on the first pitch she saw. Ormsby followed in the sixth with a two-out solo jack (5), her second of the night, to right field to give U-Mary a 6-0 lead.

Again in the seventh Perales led off the inning with a first pitch home run, this time to right field. With one out and a runner on, Demaree Rodriguez went opposite field for a two-run shot (5) that gave the Marauders a 10-1 lead.

After surrendering a bunt single to start the bottom of the seventh, Trujillo sent the next for CU batters down in order to preserve a 10-1 win for U-Mary.

The Marauders hit a season-high five home runs in the game surpassing their previous best of three.  The last time U-Mary hit five home runs in a game was Feb. 12, 2011 against Chardon State.

GAME 2

A strong effort by Trujillo coupled with a three-run home run proved to be the key again in the second game as a three-run shot by Perales in the third inning and 4.2 scoreless innings by Trujillo led the Marauders to 4-2 win.

Ormsby was the only U-Mary player to finish with more than one hit as she was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Trujillo started the game for the Marauders pitching the first three innings, but was relieved by Erin Keen. Keen pitched 2.1 innings and allowed just one earned run as she improved to 11-7 on the season.

Trujillo eventually came back to close the game out for the Marauders picking up her second save of the season as she allowed no runs over a total of 4.2 innings.

Ormsby got U-Mary on the board early with an RBI (26) single through the right side that scored Brown from third, who singled to lead off the game.

Ormsby led off the third inning with a double, and Amber Gamboa followed with a full count single through the left side. Perales ensued with her third home run of the day as she gave the Marauders a 4-0 lead.

With runners at first and third the Golden Bears scored their first run of the game in the fourth inning as a rundown on a steal attempt between first and second allowed the runner to score from third.

With bases loaded and one out in the sixth, Trujillo came in to relieve Keen. Trujillo registered five consecutive outs to end the game, but Concordia-St. Paul added a run on a sacrifice fly as U-Mary held on for a 4-2 win.

Scoring in the first inning of both games, U-Mary is now 15-1 this season when scoring in the first inning.
