SLIGHT DEVIATION FROM PLANS WEEK 2
For the second straight week, U-Mary has had to change its weekend travel plans. Last week the Marauders had its series scheduled at Concordia-St. Paul moved to Wayne, Neb., when the weather at both sites proved uncooperative. This week the Marauders remain at home instead of travelling to Winona, Minn., after the Warriors decided their field was unplayable.

REVERSAL REVERSAL
Last season the Marauders had to change venues and play a series originally scheduled at home in Bismarck at Winona State's stadium. This season the series moves from Winona to Bismarck.

BEEN A WHILE
The last time Winona State visited Bismarck, N.D., it was May 2011.

HISTORY
Since the Marauders began playing in the NSIC in 2007, U-Mary is 6-17 against Winona State.

HOME SWEET HOME
After not expecting a home game until April 5, the Marauders will potentially have played six games on their own field by then. U-Mary picked up two games earlier this week against Mayville State and are scheduled to host Winona State four times this weekend.

LAST WEEK
The Marauders fell 7-1 and 7-2 in conference contests against Concordia-St. Paul in games played Monday in Wayne, Neb. When its scheduled four-game series against CSP was reduced to a two-game set due to weather issues, U-Mary picked up a pair of home games against Mayville State on Wednesday. The Comets captured both contests, winning 7-3 and 12-3.

GUN THE RUN
Senior catcher Sam Ingemansen was on a tremendous roll during the Marauders-Comets doubleheader. The Bismarck, N.D., native threw out four straight basestealers and 5-of-8 in the game. For the season Ingemansen had tossed out 12-of-28 attempted base stealers.

FRESHMAN FIND
Freshman Andrew Beyer has quickly found his place in the Marauders lineup, starting all 18 games in the outfield. The Fargo, N.D., native is hitting .308 with a .410 on base percentage. He is tied for the team lead in RBIs with 13 and is third in runs scored with ten. Beyer has yet to make an error in 39 chances. Last week he was 5-for-12 with four RBI.

BIG DAY
Scott Held posted a career-high three hits in three at bats in game two against Mayville State on Wednesday. He ripped two doubles and scored twice. On the day the sophomore from Great Falls was 4-for-5 with three runs scored. For the season he is hitting .323, third on the squad, and has a team-high .476 on base percentage.

NATION'S BEST
The Marauders opened the season with six straight games against nationally-ranked teams. U-Mary lost all four games at St. Mary's to start the year. Ranked 15th at the time, the Rattlers are now 3rd in the NCBWA March 11 poll. Barry University was ranked 18th when it faced U-Mary. After rising as high as 16th, Barry fell out of the poll last week. Lynn University was 21st when it faced U-Mary and is now ranked 13th.

OUCH
U-Mary's most dynamic offensive player is paying the price for producing. Junior left fielder Jason Shaul leads the NSIC in being hit by the pitch and is 23rd in the country in hit by pitch per game. In 18 games he has been hit eight times. Shaul is currently hitting .317 with a .483 slugging percentage and a .462 on base percentage. He has scored a team-high 14 times and has nine RBI. Shaul also paces the team with four doubles and three triples.

PATIENCE
Utility man Dwight Mack is first in the NSIC in walks with 11 and Derek Somerville is tied for fourth with nine.

SWIFT AND STRONG
Senior 1B/DH Derek Somerville is third in the Northern Sun in steals, swiping eight bases in nine attempts. Hitting in the middle of the order, Somerville is 12th in RBIs with 13.  Twice Somerville has two steals in a game.

GET IT STARTED
Senior 2B and leadoff hitter Austin Grundstad (Williston, N.D.) leads the Marauders with a .324 batting average and 23 hits. He also has a .402 on base and a .366 slugging percentage. A three-year starter, Grundstad is second on the team with 12 runs scored.

DOUBLEHECKING
Sophomore Dwight Mack (Mandan, N.D.) has to pay close attention to the lineup card to figure out where he is playing. So far this season Mack has caught, played first and third and served as the Marauders designated hitter. The transfer from North Dakota State is hitting .286, slugging .408, and has an on base percentage of .417.

DIALING IT IN
U-Mary's starting shortstop since arriving on campus four years ago, Alex Deyle is now fifth in games played during U-Mary's NCAA era (2007 and on). A senior, Deyle has played in 147 games and has started 145 times. One of the top defensive players in the league, the Bismarck native has committed just one error this season in 72 chances and has a .986 fielding percentage.

NEXT UP
The Marauders are scheduled to play at Wayne State College on April 2 before beginning a 14-game home stand.
