BISMARCK, N.D – Seemingly not wanting their season to end, the University of Mary women's soccer team finished 2014 with a scoreless draw at home against Northern State University. A typical contest for the Marauders, it was the seventh time U-Mary has gone to overtime this year.
U-Mary was 2-1-4 in games that went into bonus time. Overall the Marauders finished 6-8-4 and 5-7-3 for 18 points and 10
th place in the Northern Sun. Northern State finished 6-11-1 and 5-9-1 for 16 points and 11
th place in the NSIC.
The Marauders had the more aggressive offense in the contest, taking 21 shots with 10 on target.
Sabra Bertsch was the most active threat for the Marauders, taking six shots total with three on goal.

Emily Christensen all had two shots on goal.
Defensively this was the second straight shutout posted by U-Mary. It was also the team's second scoreless draw of the season. The Marauders defense was outstanding, limiting the Wolves to just nine total shots with only three attempts on frame.
The two best scoring opportunities for the Marauders occurred in the first half. In the 30
th minute, Bertsch tapped a ball off the left post. Bertsch then had a header off a corner kick stopped on the goal line by a Wolves defender in the 43
rd minute.
Shelby Buttron preserved her second straight clean sheet for U-Mary in the 65
th minute when she punched a long shot from Andrea Boisner over the top of the crossbar. In her final collegiate game, Buttron was credited with three saves, all during regulation.
Northern State goalkeeper Brittany Tietz posted nine saves.
