Box Score 2 Bismarck, N.D.—As the weather warmed up so did the University of Mary's (15-10, 4-4 NSIC) bats as they picked up their first Northern Sun sweep of the season against Minnesota Crookston (2-17, 1-7 NSIC). In the first game U-Mary defeated UMC 7-4 and followed in the second with a 13-2 (5 innings) mercy rule victory over the Golden Eagles.

Brittney Hadley has now hit safely in five of U-Mary's last six games. Hadley continued her power surge blasting a home run in each of today's games against UMC. Hadley has now hit a team-high eight home runs.
Cherlyn Trujilllo got the nod in both games and pitched all 12 innings, picking up her 11th and 12th complete games of the season. The lefty finished with 13 strikeouts and allowed just three earned runs.
Hadley started the Marauders off with a bang, hitting a three-run home run to right field to give U-Mary a 3-1 lead. In the second
Kristin Ormsby double down the left field line and two batters later
Jessica Alvarado reached on an infield single. The heady senior rounded first forcing a rundown and allowing Ormsby to score.
The Marauders surrendered one in the third and two in the fourth courtesy of a pair of U-Mary errors that evened the score at 4-4. Answering in the sixth with one run, the Marauders added two more in the sixth to take a 7-4 lead.
Trujillo shut the door on the Golden Eagles striking out the first two batters before inducing a game-ending fly out. Trujillo pitched seven strong finishing with 10 strikeout and allowing just one earned run.
Going 3-for-4, Alvarado recorded her third, three hit game of the season. Ormsby went 2-for-3 picking up her fourth and fifth doubles of the season. Getting hit by three pitches,
Allison Brown reached base in three of her four plate appearances.
Again in the second game U-Mary got off to a strong start and again they put up a three spot. Brown, got the scoring started with a two run home run to right center that scored Alvarado. Not to be outdone, Hadley followed Brown with a home run of her own to left center.
In the third the Marauders took advantage of five hits and three Golden Eagles' errors to score five runs. The biggest hit of the inning came off of the bat of right fielder
Erin Keen. With two outs Keen singled to left field to score two runs. After allowing two runs to score in the top of the fourth, U-Mary responded in the bottom with another five run inning. Four of U-Mary's five hits in the inning were extra base hits including a two run double off the bat of
Kimberly McKnight. With an 11 run lead, Trujillo sent UMC down in order in the top of the fifth to put the mercy rule into effect.
After committing two errors in the first game, the Marauders were flawless in the second game finishing with no errors for the fourth time this season.
Hadley was a perfect 3-for-3 in the game. Alvarado, Brown, McKnight and
Alana Norman each had two hits for the Marauders.
U-Mary will be back in action on April 6 as they head to Winona State (18-6, 3-1 NSIC).
