Hot Start by Hadley Yields NSIC Player of the Week Honor

Burnsville, Minn. -- With the unveiling of the first NSIC Softball Weekly Release, the University of Mary's Brittney Hadley was named Softball Player of the Week for her efforts at the Montana State University Billings Desert Stinger.

After an up and down season last year, Hadley started the season off right by leading the Marauders to a perfect 5-0 record at the MSUB Desert Stinger and thier best start since joining the NSIC in 2006.

Against Central Washington Hadley was a perfect 4-4 from the plate including a grand slam in the fifth inning. Overall, the sophomore hit an outstanding .533 (8-15) to go with a 1.400 slugging percentage and 12 runs batted in. Starting primarily at designated hitter, Hadley has already tied her season total from a year ago with four home runs in the five-game stretch.

The last U-Mary softball player to receive the honor was pitcher Emily Sinclair last season (2/15). Sinclair also received the award for an outsanding performance at the MSUB Desert Stinger.
