2012 Football Finale Moves to Alerus Center

Grand Forks, ND – The final University of Mary football game of the 2012 season has officially moved inside. The University of Minnesota, Crookston changed the venue for the Marauders-Golden Eagles contest on November 10 to the Alerus Center in Grand Forks, ND. Kickoff is set for 1 PM with the gates opening at 12 noon.

The game was originally scheduled for Ed Widseth Field on the UMC campus and is still considered a home game for the Golden Eagles.

This will be the Marauders first game in a covered field since playing Northern State University in the Metrodome on November 10, 2007.

Ticket prices for the game are $12 for adults ages 18 to 62. Students ages 13 to 18 can get in for $8. Children ages six through 12 and seniors ages 62 and over can get in for $6. UMC students have free admission with a student I.D. Children ages six and under also have free admission to the game. Tickets can be purchased through the Alerus Center and Ticketmaster.

Tailgating for UMC and U-Mary fans will be allowed outside the gate two in the south parking lot. The main entrance for the game will be gate one.

The Alerus Center is a 12,283-seat enclosed stadium that features 18 luxury VIP suites, state-of-the art scoreboards, 15-by-30 Daktronics video replay boards and a BOSE sound system. Located on the west side of Grand Forks just off of Interstate 29, the field was fitted with a brand new AstroTurf Magic Carpet in August of 2012. The new turf features five layers that allow it to mimic real grass more effectively. The stadium serves as the home for the NCAA Division I FCS University of North Dakota football.
