Biography

2017
After being elected team captain for the third year in a row by his peers Paul posted a season record of 17-17, scoring 21 reversals, 26 four-point nearfalls, 5 technical falls, and 4 pins. During this campaign he set the season record for the University of Mary for 4 point nearfalls in a season with a remarkable 26, along with shattering his previous record for reversals setting the new bar at 21. With the new records Paul currently holds 4 career and season records for the University of Mary which are; reversals, 2-point nearfalls, 4-point nearfalls, and technical falls. His season ended at the Super Region 3 tournament going 3-3 earning himself 6th place. After losing the B.O.T. (Best on Top) award in 2016 Paul earned it back with his record breaking performance in the top position. While putting together a stellar year on the mat Paul was awarded second team honors with his 3.68 GPA, propelling the team in their 10th place finish in the NCAA Division II All-Academic wrestling team.

Posted a season record of 16-16, scoring 32 takedowns, 14 reversals, 2 falls, 3 majors, and 2 technical falls. During this campaign he set the season record for the University of Mary for 2 point nearfalls in a season with 15, along with breaking his previous record for reversals setting the new bar at 14. His season ended at the Super Region 3 tournament going 1-2.

2015
He started his redshirt freshman season at 165 pounds eventually dropping down to 157 pounds. He finished his season 8-18, with 11 reversals and 2 major decisions. His 11 reversals set the record for the University of Mary for reversals in a season. His season ended at the Super Region 3 tournament going 0-2. Paul earned a reputation as a young Marauder for being tough in the top position, he earned himself the B.O.T. (Best on Top) award at the team’s yearly banquet.

PRIOR TO UMARY
Wrestled for four years, played football for four years at Williston High School.  Named MVP for wrestling four times, named team captain in wrestling four times, named MVP for defensive back in football, named team captain in football.  Made honor roll all four years.  Finished with 178-23 career record in wrestling. Paul is attending U-Mary to pursue a biology degree.
