2018
Hunter recorded 14 wins working as a bonus point factory with four coming by major decision and six by pin, placing 4th at the DWU Open. Hunter made it to day two of NCAA Super Regional 3. Darnell Eckert, mother of Hunter, received Fan of the Year Honors at the 2018 Team Banquet. We thank the Eckert family for their amazing support!
 
2017
He started his sophomore campaign on fire winning the Yellowjacket open hosted by RCTC. He sustained an injury there and missed some time after receiving a knee surgery. After making his way back to the lineup he finished 9-9 with 2 major decisions and 2 falls. He proved to be a valuable member of the dual meet team with wins over Colin Ayers of Augustana and Dylan Connell of MSUM. His win over Connell sealed the deal for Mary in their team win over #24 ranked MSUM. He finished his season 1-2 at the Super Region 3 tournament.  As a first year starter he shared the Rookie of the year award at the team’s annual banquet with teammate Dom Tudor.
 
2016
During his freshman campaign the Bismarck native compiled a 2-5 record, gathering 6 reversals and 1 fall.
 
PRIOR TO UMARY
Son of Rick and Darnell Eckert, Hunter is a local wrestling standout for Century High School. In his senior season, Hunter was named team captain and finished with a 50-5 record, set the state pin record at 138 pounds, and won the state championships while his team finished third. Hunter’s intended major at U-Mary is business administration.
