Biography

2017
Starting his junior season Dane was voted team captain by his peers, he started the season at 157 pounds beating Zak Benitz of Upper Iowa who was ranked 6th in the country at the time. Eventually moving up the 174 pound weight class he finished his season 14-16 overall going 11-10 in NCAA division 2 matchups. He accumulated 41 takedowns which ranks him 8th overall in takedowns for a season at the University of Mary. He also proved to be reliable gaining a huge fall in the home dual meet against Minot State, that fall was 1 of 6 during the season, he currently ranks second all-time in falls for a career with 11. He finished his junior campaign 1-2 at the Super Regional 3 Tournament. For the third year in a row Dane proved to be the toughest wrestler on the team earning the Barn Cat tough award at the team’s banquet. Dane was also pivotal component to the teams 10th place finish in the NCAA Division II All-Academic wrestling team earning honorable mention status with his impressive 3.48 GPA.

2016
He wrestled 157 pounds and went 11-18 overall, earning 36 takedowns and 4 falls. With his 4 falls he earned second all-time at the University of Mary in falls per season. Finishing his sophomore year going 0-2 at the Super Regional 3 Tournament. Danes performance earned himself the Barn Cat Tough award for the second year in a row.

2015
As a true freshman he compiled a 2-13 overall record at the 149 pound weight class, finishing his season 1-2 at the Super Region 3 Tournament. During the season Dane Impressed his peers and coaches being named the Barn Cat Tough Wrestler of the year at the team’s banquet. 

PRIOR TO UMARY
Wrestled and played soccer at St. Mary’s Central High School. Dane finished second, third, sixth, and seventh at the state tournament and received the Presidential Award for Education. Dane is attending U-Mary to pursue a degree in information technology management and engineering sciences.
