In her final season as a marauder, Lexi came away with a history breaking season. She brought home another Roy Griak Championship with the 4th All-Time D2 runner in history, and lead the marauders to a 3rd place finish. Lexi ran away with the conference individual title and helped lead the marauders to another Conference Team title. Going into the region meet, there were a lot of unanswered questions, she was able to win a 3rd straight individual Region title and 2nd straight Team Title. Going into the NCAA meet the team was looking strong. Lexi finished her XC career at the Umary with a 13th place finish, but helped lead the Umary team to history with a National Runner-Up team finish at NCAA meet in Evansville, IN.

After coming off injury in the 2016 track season, the Junior from Bismarck, ND was ready for another XC season. She lead the Umary women to a team Griak Title and another Induvial title. Going into championship season she ended up placing 2nd at the Conference meet and helped lead the team the first Conference Title in the D2 era. After a strong conference showing, she bounced back to win her 2nd Region Individual title and lead the marauders to a Region Champion title for the first time in history. Going into the NCAA meet, she came away with a National Runner-Up finish and helped lead the marauders to a 7th place finish. Going into indoor season, she came away with 3,000m and 5,000m conference titles, breaking both conference records and school records this season and lead the marauders to a 2nd place team finish. At the NCAA Lexi came away with the 5,000 National Title and a 7th place finish in the 3,000m. Going into the outdoor season, she had a lot of goals set ahead for her. She broke the school 5k and 10k records and ended up with a conference title in the 5k and 10k and lead the marauders to a 2nd placed finish. Qualifying for both races, she brought home her first Outdoor All-American in the 10k and ended up 13th in the 5k.

Coming of a strong freshman season, Lexi Zeis had a break through XC season. Becoming the first Roy Griak Champion in Umary history, she won 5 total races (all the races she ran) this season. Conference champion, Region Champion and National Champion. She helped lead the team to a 4th place finish at the region meet which qualified the team for the National meet where they placed 12th as a team. Turning things around and coming into indoor track season, she won the 3,000m conference title for the 2nd time. She began to excel on the track but do to running with an injury she fell short at the National Meet by placing 9th in the 3,000m earning Second Team All-American Honors. During the outdoor season, she was able to bounce back and place 2nd in the 5,000 meters and qualified for her first outdoor national meet, she placed 15th in the 5k.

Coming into her freshman year of cross country, Lexi Zeis was an All-Conference and All-Region performer her first season. She became the first freshman in Umary history to become an All-American at the NCAA meet placing 21st. She also was an All-Academic performer. After a break through XC season, she went on to win the 5,000 meters and 3,000 meter indoor conference titles, which helped her lead the team to a conference Championship. She also qualified for 4 races at the NCAA meet, Mile, 3,000, 5,000 and DMR. She ran the DMR mile leg and led the marauders to a 5th place finish and came back the next day to place 8th in the 3,000m. Outdoor season, Lexi helped lead the marauders to another conference title with a 3rd place finish in the 1500m and a 5th place finish in the 5,000.

A 4x All-State cross country performer, 4x WDA cross country performer, and an 8x All-State track and field performer. Alexis Zeis attended Bismarck High School in Bismarck, North Dakota. Alexis Zeis has helped lead BHS XC to win two State Championships (2012-2013) and two State Runner-Up finishes. She also helped BHS Track and Field to a State Runner-Up finish in 2014. As a multi-sport athlete, Alexis was also a figure skater and was part of the Capital Ice Chips Synchronized skating team from when she was a 6th grader to her 11th grade year. She helped lead the team to 3 National Championship Competitions, with the highest place being 5th. Alexis also has a sister named Mikayla who also figure skates and is part of the BHS soccer team. She is the daughter of Greg and Shari Zeis and intends on majoring in Athletic Training.
