PRIOR TO U-MARY
A three-sport athlete and Winnipeg, Manitoba, native, Claire Johnston is one of two Canadian players joining the Marauders for the 2014 season. While at River East Collegiate, Johnston received First and Second year Award and Elite Athlete. Aside from her prep success, Johnston excelled at the club level participating as a part of the Jr. Westman Volleyball Club for coach Dara Johnson. Not losing a single set at nationals, Johnston helped lead her team to the Division 3 Canadian Open National Championships in 2012.
 
An honor roll student, Johnston is involved in student council, chamber choir and wind ensemble. Johnston maintains an average grade of 90. The daughter of Nancy Barlyski, Johnston plans to pursue a degree in biology at U-Mary.
