The University of Mary Marauders

One of the most accurate shooters in the Northern Sun, Marc Musungayi made an immediate impact for the Marauders. The 6-6 post player averaged 10.5 points and 5.7 rebounds while shooting 56.5 per cent from the floor overall (122-of-216) and 79.6 per cent at the free throw line (39-of-49) while starting 25 of 27 games... Musungayi finished fourth in the NSIC in field goal percentage, 10th in blocked shots (0.93/game) and 14th in rebounding... He opened his U-Mary career with 10 points and nine rebounds at NCAA Division I Milwaukee... Made a mark with an incredible performance in an 82-70 loss to MSU Moorhead on 12/8/12. He was a perfect 11-for-11 from the field and made all three free throws to score 25 points. The junior also hauled down 12 rebounds for his lone double double of the season... He cracked double digits in points 13 times (with 20 or more three times) and rebounds twice... Also had 20 points against Minnesota Duluth on 1/25/13 and 27 against Northern State on 2/23/13 in the regular season finale... Against the Wolves Musungayi was 13-of-18 shooting the ball... Overall he led the Marauders in scoring five times and rebounding six times.

PRIOR TO U-MARY
A native of Hamilton, Ontario, Marc Musungayi transfered to U-Mary after helped Iowa Central Community College to the NJCAA Division 2 National Tournament in 2011-12, just the school’s second appearance at nationals. In his two seasons at ICCC, the Tritons won 48 games and played in two regional title games.

Musungayi collected second team all-region honors as a sophomore in 2011-12 as the Tritons went 25-11. The forward averaged 9.5 points and 5.7 rebounds per game, shot 54 per cent from the floor, third in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference, and hit 79 per cent of his free throw attempts. He was named the Region XI tournament most valuable player after scoring 15 of his 19 points in the second half of a championship game victory over Des Moines Area Community College.

As a freshman in 2010-11, Musangayi averaged 6.9 points and 3.9 rebounds per game while making 56 per cent of his shots as ICCC went 23-8 on the season.

The son of Mamie Musungayi, Marc will major in business communication at U-Mary.
