SIOUX FALLS, SD – Despite double-digit kills and digs from
Judith Burke, the University of Mary volleyball team (2-6) fell in three sets (25-20, 25-19, 25-23) to Chadron State College on the final day of the AU/USF Volleyball Tournament.
UMary recorded 33 kills on a .091 attack percentage, while CSC posted 44 kills on a .188 hitting percentage. The Marauders had 32 assists and two aces, while the Eagles had 42 assists and six aces.
The first set saw CSC jump out to an 18-10 lead, and despite a 5-0 run by UMary, the Eagles claimed the set 25-20. The Marauders held a 13-12 lead in the second set but could not hold on as CSC stormed back to win it 25-19.
The third set ended in heartbreaking fashion for UMary after the Marauders held a 23-18 lead. The Eagles finished the set on a 7-0 run to claim the final set 25-23.
The match finished with the Marauders posting nine blocks and 60 digs. The Eagles put up seven blocks and 59 digs.

Judith Burke had a team-high 12 kills, averaging four kills per set. She also contributed 11 digs and one ace.
Natalie Boehmer dished out 28 assists and ten digs.
Karina Hixon posted a team-best 14 digs.
Gabrielle Reynolds had eight kills, three blocks, and three digs.
Holli Klettheimer put up four blocks (one solo) and three kills.
Peyton Hohn recorded four blocks.
Chloe Solheid added 12 digs.
