BISMARCK, ND – It was an impressive performance for the University of Mary volleyball team (4-9, 2-3 Northern Sun) as the Marauders swept (25-22, 25-17, 28-26) their in-state rivals Minot State University (3-10, 0-5 NSIC).
UMary recorded 48 kills on a .209 hitting percentage, while MSU put up 39 kills on a .132 attack percentage. The Marauders posted 47 assists and four aces, while the Beavers had 36 assists and two aces.
The first set was back and forth as both teams exchanged leads. The Marauders trailed 21-20 when
Dani Highum subbed on and came up huge for UMary. The Marauders finished the set on a 5-1 run, with three kills coming from Highum, to win 25-21.

Holli Klettheimer dominated the second set, combining for nine kills and leading the UMary to a 25-17 win. The third set was a thriller as the Marauders trailed the Beavers 9-2 early. UMary came storming back and tied the set at 25-25. MSU took down the next point, but a Klettheimer kill tied it back up at 26-26. The game concluded with the Marauders posting ten blocks and 61 digs. The Beavers recorded six blocks and 46 digs.

Judith Burke put up 13 kills on a .270 attack percentage to go along with nine digs.
Holli Klettheimer recorded 13 kills and four blocks.
Norah Thome had a career-high 15 digs.
Natalie Boehmer dished out 43 assists and had nine digs.
Peyton Hohn had a team-best six blocks and added five kills.
Ruby Rengo put up six kills and four blocks.
Gabrielle Reynolds posted seven kills and four digs.
Dani Highum had three kills on four attempts.
