HUDSON, WI – The University of Mary men's golf team opened their season in a remarkable way, winning the Fall Brawl. It was the first team win for the Marauders since spring 2024.
Payton Hiller and
Evan Booth led the way, tying for 7
th with a 148 (+6). Both golfers hit a 74 (+3) in each round. Hiller's tournament was highlighted by a team-high 8 birdies.
Ryker Landers and
Lucas Schoepp tied for 10
th. Landers was stellar on Monday, finishing the first round tied for 2
nd overall individually. Schoepp had an excellent second day, golfing an even par 71, which was the second-best score on the final day. He moved up 19 spots on Day 2, finishing with a 149 (+7).
Dawson Melbo contributed to the team score in Round 1, with a 76 (+5).

Kyle Kasitz debuted in the best possible fashion, taking home his first head coaching victory.

The Marauders will head to Minnesota next week for the Jewel Invitational hosted by Winona State University. The meet will be held on Sept. 21 and 22 at the Jewel Golf Club.
