MINOT, ND – University of Mary men's golf picked up its second win of the season as the Marauders were victorious at the Battle in the North. The meet was held at the Beowulf Golf Club in Minot, ND, on Oct. 5 and 6.
Payton Hiller had the most notable performance among five top-10 finishers for UMary, as the sophomore finished in a three-way tie for 1
st. Hiller scored a 141 (-1) after 36 holes in which he tallied 8 birdies and an eagle. However, he came up just short in a one-hole playoff.
Leading the way for the B team in 4
th was
Quinn Breidenbach, who had the tournament's best score on Monday (70, -1). Breidenbach accumulated 10 birdies across the two days, scoring a 143 (+1).
Dawson Melbo placed 6
th for the A team, hitting a 145 (+3) with 6 birdies. Tying for 7
th to round out the scoring for the A team was
Aiden Knodel and
Ryker Landers. The duo shot a 147 (+5). Landers had 9 birdies, while Knodel had 6 birdies and an eagle.
Hunter Lien also recorded an eagle while golfing for the B team.

The Marauders will conclude their fall season next week in South Dakota at the USF Fall Invitational. The meet will take place on Oct. 12 and 13 from The Falls Golf Club and Casino in Sioux Falls, SD.
