ST. CLOUD, MN – Down two goals with five minutes to play in their Northern Sun opener, the University of Mary women's soccer team never lost faith and made full use of the clock to pull out a dramatic 2-2 draw at St. Cloud State.
Dina Polanco, who earned the Marauders a 1-1 draw on opening day when she found the net with just 65 seconds to play, once again was the catalyst in the UMary rally.
The Guatemalan national midfielder jumpstarted the Marauders rally with a goal at 85:43, tallying off an assist from team captain
Chloe Brand.
With the Marauders continuing to press for the equalizer, the homestanding Huskies committed a foul inside the penalty area with 34 seconds to play. Polanco delivered the penalty to pull the Marauders even and complete the comeback.
This was the second straight game Polanco has delivered a brace of goals. For the season the all-region sophomore has five goals and an assist in four games.
The Marauders (1-1-2 overall, 0-0-1 NSIC) held the attacking edge with the advantage in both shots (14-8) and shots on frame (7-5). SCSU (1-1-2, 0-0-1) held the advantage in corners (3-1) and committed more fouls (12-6).

Polanco and
Maggie Bono led the Marauders attack. Both managed four shots with three coming on frame.
